I’m so happy I could cry. I’ve tried describing the pain I’ve had countless times like this: My legs constantly feel like they need to be quickly jerked out of my pelvis by my feet. I imagine I’d find relief…aside from the whole glaring dislocation issue. 😂I’ve located the pain deep into my sacrum on the top right and top left. It’s an insane pain that actually results in some relief to the point that I’ve bruised it with my knuckles. This is the ONLY video I’ve found that ventures anywhere near this topic and then gave so many things to try. I’m elated and so very thankful. You’re the BEST!!!!!!!

I was a doula and childbirth educator, and I’m now a massage therapy student. I love working this area, and have been able to utilize so many of the “labor relief” techniques I learned working as a doula on non pregnant people. The hip release is a favorite of mine, and even my massage instructor learned something new. I enjoy your channel and tips a lot. Thanks for sharing.

Not weird - helpful. I've used this technique before, forgot about it, so thanks for the reminder! Those with sedentary jobs can really benefit from this technique to break up "stagnation" around the sacrum area. I also appreciate how you always explain to your clients what you'd like to do and why, get consent, and clearly let them know they can revoke consent any time they wish. This is how we build and maintain therapeutic relationships, which is as or more important than any technique. :-)

Hey Ian, you say massage is weird anyway 😁 The weirdest thing I learned was shaking the pelvis in the sitting position, but at that point we were told that "it's in the books, but no one actually does that, there are things you can do, that will also work and don't feel as uncomfortable as this".

I was told last year that I have degenerative discs in my back, a disc out of place in my back (I believe SI but at first I thought they said S1), arthritis in my back (I didn't know that people get arthritis in their back), sciatica and bone on bone arthritis in my knees. I've had the nerves burned on each side of my spine. I was still in constant pain. I had my 3rd epidural in my back almost 2 months ago. I'm still in constant pain and my back sometimes cracks when I walk. And I have pain in my butt which I've been told is the disc that's out of place and is resting on a nerve. I specifically remembered this video today and decided to watch it again. I live in a small town. And there aren't a lot of massage therapists. I've been using a foam roller plus a lacrosse ball that my Dr gave me in an attempt to get some relief from the pain. I've also gone through physical therapy. Well at least all the physical therapy that my insurance will cover. I am hoping that you'll see this comment. Do you have any suggestions that can help? Do you think this sacrum massage will help?

I like how you communicate the material...and I don't think the move is weird lol, but I can understand how clients who are not used to bodywork may perceive it that way (which is why I appreciate the way you communicate). Thanks, Great vid. Not weird, but very effective! You have given me added technique to what I'm already doing with my Clients. I stand on a stool and press down directly on the sacrum after I've softened the illiac crest. I also give each leg a long slow pull to elongate. I then use a buffer putting pressure on the whole posterior pelvis. P.S. Most of your videos you speak to softly and even with cc. I have a difficult time understanding what you are saying. This vid has a much better delivery.
