One of the few massage therapists who explain why "heart directed" massage movements are important, the lunar valves in the veins. Also, the "heart directed" massage movements assists with lymphatic system circulation.
@MassageTherapeutics9155 жыл бұрын
Karl Kuchma yes!!!! You got it. Centripal massage is so important so as not to damage the lunar valves that are in the veins!!! This is how people get varicose when the valves are damaged. You know your anatomy! And must be a very good therapist!!!! Thanks for the compliment
@kjkuchma5 жыл бұрын
@@MassageTherapeutics915I do like me some anatomy, but I'm not a therapist. I'm just some goofball trying to keep my body functional and moving. Once in a while, I might read up on a thing or two. You do great work with you explainations. Here's an anecdotal one but research is confirming. Mechanical sheering (massage) helps to stimulate the extracellular matrix (ECM) exposing cryptic sites within the ECM. The ECM is the goo surrounding cells and within the goo are the cryptic sites (proteins, growth factors, etcetera) that signal cellular responses like "repair." This could be why electric toothbrushes work so well for managing gum disease beyond plaque removal. They vibrate the heck out of the surrounding gum tissue breaking up the ECM exposing the cryptic sites.

Karl Kuchma this is great information! I’m equally impressed that you’re not a therapist yet know so much! Welcome to my channel. I’m an anatomy nerd myself even though I forget most it lol. Schierling. A really fascinating read. New information on fascia & it’s importance! Thank you for the stimulating commentary

Outstanding video! Would be great if you could show the exact same frozen shoulder treatment except on a client who is very ticklish there and needs to laugh through it. I'm sure that happens a lot, very vulnerable area!

Wonderful video. I'd love to learn more about the nerve ending strokes. I'm going to practice those techniques soon especially the subscap! I love the music and have enjoyed everything you've shared. Thank you Maria!!!! I'd like to request a video of your best stretching techniques in the future. Best new therapist in KZbin.

LILLY PAD thank you very much Lilly! Love your KZbin name too. Unfortunately I can’t do much stretching anymore because of my back issues & I keep shrinking lol. It’s difficult to stretch people bigger than I am and 99% of them are! Lol. I’ll write down your request Lilly & see if I can come up with something in a few months. I have so many videos to do & not enough time. I’m excited that you’re going to incorporate some of the techniques in your practice. Have you seen the other videos? I hope you have subscribed & please share the video. I appreciate that. We’ll have a new video coming out next week for forearm work so be on the look out👀

Thank you so much Maria you are truly amazing! Do you find that even with this amazing treatment that frozen shoulder takes a long time to heal? I have 2 clients with frozen shoulder who don't seem to be progressing and I'm very concerned. One can't lift her arm up at all. I have told her to see her Dr asap for an ultrasound and further investigation. My massage increases range of motion but it's still not good. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you.
@MassageTherapeutics9155 жыл бұрын
Sasha Bythesea you are correct that it takes a long time to heal & sometimes even with our good work intentions they don’t get better. I’ve had one client where she had to have a second surgery to remove the scar tissue & fascia that had created the frozen shoulder. It is very disappointing when this happens & please don’t feel bad. We pour all our good intentions & knowledge into what we do & sometimes that’s not enough & it hurts. However this is when we refer to a doctor and accept our limitations. Nothing wrong with that. Take care & best of luck to your clients 🙏
