Citadel was created by reapers, not Protheans. I thought fan such as yourself wouldn't make such mistake. Haha. No big deal tho, even the in-game humans believed that up until Javik told them it is not true. (Vigil said it first, thanks Jordan Beeney for pointing it out)

+Shadow i don't know much about destiny and i agree that if something is successful it's not necessarily good (just look at justin bieber,one direction,etc.) but i really don't get the hate behind game of thrones since it is really fucking good. i only wish they made a witcher 3 kind of rpg of the show. i would really like to hear the reasons you dislike got because most of the people that i see complaining are the ones that haven't watched the show at all or have just watch the first episode or just a hald of the first episode. i call it haiting on mainstream things,jumping on bandwagons and being a hipster. i'm not trying to start a fight or anything it's just what i observed.

Some of the information regarding Mass Effect's history that you are sharing is not true. The Reapers did not betray the Leviathans. It was the protocol of the Intelligence that caused the Reapers to turn against their creators - to prevent a war between organics and synthetics. The Mass Relays were not created by the Protheans, they were built by the Reapers. This is the network that they use to travel around the galaxy faster. The Citadel is also made by the Reapers.
@PR-xm5zc

Likewise for the first part of what you just said, the leviathans didn't create the reapers, they created the catalyst to solve the problem of organics and synthetics, the catalysts solution was to betray the leviathans and made the first reapers from the leviathans.

Even though that doesn't really make sense either as they are able to just fly normal and make it to the milkyway in a little over 2yrs, if they are that close the whole citadel thing seems pointless for immortal beings 2yrs is like a couple minutes, so they just waited for hundreds of years for sovereign to regain control of the citadel...when they could of just legged it in 2yrs
@AdmiralBison
@AdmiralBison 3 жыл бұрын
@@PR-xm5zc Vigil explained, The Reapers "don't rush into the unknown" Sovereign's purpose was to check the state of the Galaxy and then send a signal to the Citadel/Keepers to open allowing the Reapers to jump in from dark space outside of the galaxy. They "legged" it into the Milky Way galaxy, and it is not mentioned how far outside of the galaxy they stayed and "slept", also it would make sense if they were to enter the Milky Way, apart from the Citadel, it would have to be the next closest or appropriate Mass Relay from with to stage their assault...which just happened to be Batarian space.

It wasn't that far. What catapulted us was the discovery of Protheon Tech on mars, then the mass relay. It was only a hundredish years from now. And is also why The aliens are so astonished by humans. By which the raw speed in-which we enriched ourselves compared to the other races.

Plus able to go toe to toe with the Turians. Then expand crazily though the galaxy economy when humans figured out what goods to make either culturally or mechanically that would get aliens to buy them in droves. Some of the minor races got pissed that humans were likely going to get a council seat in less then a hundred years while their race had waited over a 1000 years or more to get on the council.

Not surprising since the design team has roots in lore that dwarfs Halo. Try Star Wars on for size, and remember that the same team (before they decided to branch into their own IP) created Knights of the Old Republic based on a deal that they had to either stay within canon on everything -OR- start in a part of the lore's history where the events would have no significant impact on the original trilogy, nor the (then being released) prequel trilogy, nor the many licensed novels already written. Yeah, these people make lore like no other.
@kofola9145

I am sorry, but Mass Effect lore is an anthropocentric nonsence. Like when every planet in the galaxy has the same axial tilt as the Earth. "Less fortunate regions have not progressed beyond 20th century technology". Are they telling me that Africa and India and what else have not progressed beyond the year 2000 technology in the year 2180? That somebody can put this on paper is one thing, but that anybody can think this level of writing is good is mind f blowing.

I was rewatching this old gem when I realized something. The Krogan reached the nuclear age *19,000 years ago*. If they hadn't screwed themselves over, they could have discovered mass effect technology only a few centuries down the line. And since they have a mass relay in their system, it's highly likely they'd become a intragalatic superpower tens of thousands of years before the asari even left their home system

I know it's a game but when it's put into perspective; Humans were just learning how to create pottery while the other major races were mastering interstellar travel. It's easy to see from a lore perspective why the other races (especially the council) aren't too fond of human ambition, it took them entire eons of existence to get where they are and it only took us a few hundred thousand years to become the next major players on the Galactic stage.

I always understood the deal with Leviathans, Reapers, "betrayal" etc. as a kind of literal mided misunderstanding. "Preserve all organic life forever" - as in record EVERYTHING there is to record about it, digitalize it to the last, tiniest bit, up to disintegrating and scanning each specimen; repeat until there is no organic life in the galaxy anymore. After the individual Reapers became self-aware regardless of the Catalyst, they started sort of enjoying it, but still were simply following orders. Kind of like "save all humans" in the Doctor Who episode with the library, realised by uploading their consciousnesses(?) to a virtual reality and getting rid of the bodies.

I bought the trilogy two days ago, finished Mass Effect 1 yesterday, going to begin Mass Effect today. It's easily one of the best games I've ever played, I'm star struck, the lore and the gameplay is amazing, the dialogue between Shepard and the other people is amazing, as is the Reapers. I'm aware that Ashley isn't particularly fond of you in Mass Effect 2, I ain't gon' cheat on her though, that's for sure.

I never thought about the fact that humans were already around when the Protheans were being wiped out. This is a really cool video, comparing actual human history, to what aliens would have been doing during that same time. Imagine this actually taking place. Us, a developping civilization, while there could be other civilizations out there that are already space-faring :) It's a cool thing to think about really. Or maybe I'm just too interested in science (-fiction) and futuristic stuff haha

it's interesting to know that the other races ( that lives during our age period ) developed so much faster than us. Oh, another good thing would making a parallel story of the races that live during our times, to really understand, how much they took to reach the citadel, just like you did, but from their beginnings, if it's known of course, this is written story after all, XD.

I love Mass Effect, the series. I only wish they had done more with it. I know that sounds strange, but each location we went to had a limited area of exploring and helping others. I wanted to explore more of each colony, help them out more, see more of the area. Mass Effect was a great achievement, but I think they should have expanded each game more than merely two discs, as absurd as they may sound. Take Omega for example, everything in that 10 million populated city was right there in that little tiny area for you. They should have had more cut-scenes showing travel to various distant areas, like monorails, or trans lifts to the mother of the woman whose daughter was murdered by the Justicar's daughter. It would have been better if each location took up an entire disc-worth of space. And I would have liked the game to have a few more cut-scenes. Also, one note, did anyone else think the way Shepard was running was strange? I'm not kidding. I think it was in the second Mass Effect game his body was running in the strangest manner for a human. So weird.

Quite right the citadel is reaper Tec and the where the the intelligence has always lived, and as stated every previous cycle is driven to make it their capital, and also a trap laid by the reapers so they can wipe out their leadership, and the citadel is literally a mass relay.

The Krogan nuclear age did'nt start 19,000 BC, but 2,000 BC - or 4,000 years ago. The Protheans did'nt build the Citadel, the Reapers did. The Protheans were not the first species to occupy the station. This video is so full of flaws and incorrect information...

Guys think about it. There is no reason to think that right now super advanced races are having an intergalactic battle and we just don't know about it. What if one day our "overseers" come down and are like. "It's for all those in our dominion" to join the fight. And we all get drafted into this crazy intergalactic battle lol.

I don't know if anyone else mentioned it already but from what I remember from the games wasn't the intelligence's goal to find a solution to the organic vs synthetic problem not to save organic life? after all that's the reason the synthesis and harvest options was even viable from it point of view because even if people continued to fight each other so long as everyone was both synthetic and organic it would fill it's prime directive
@sergiokaminotanjo
