Grew up with Massey Ferguson's in the 60&70's . I have a 3070 , my older brother has a 471 another bro has a 451, another has a 35, my sister and her husband has a 255. So Massey Ferguson's runs deep in my family .

@@bigtractorpower We operate everything from heavy tillage to planting wheat, corn, sugar beets. Also large square bales, grain carts, beet harvesters and everything else associated with row crop farming. We also have quite a few smaller Massey tractors and a 9540 combine

No, they really are not as popular in the US..John Deere & Case IH are the 2 most..Even older models are not as popular as White, Oliver, Allis Chalmers, Case, or International

Although I wouldn't day we souly rely on Massey's they play a key roll on our farm as chore tractors we have 175 with I suspect at least 13000 hours on it and a 390t with about 6500 both have been good reliable and solid tractors for us

I have been a fan of MF for years. I think it was Ferguson that was first to employ three point hitch and live PTO. Yes, believe it or not at an early stage of farm tractors there was no 'live' PTO. Some of you may even wonder what that is. There was Ferguson, then Ford Ferguson then Massey Ferguson after Massey Harris joined the Ferguson tractor. Anyone remember the Massey Harris from years ago?

Our neighbor had a Massey Harris narrow front end in the '60's as I recall. I drove it a few times. Don't recall the size/model though but at most a three plow tractor.

@@JsixstringS sturdy well built tractors. I work at a agco dealer and theres 4 or 5 around where I live and I have yet to see any come in for work. One needed computer adjustment I believe because the guy had it tuned and it screwed with the computer. Other then that I have yet to see much wrong with them. If you havnt driven a dyna vt then your in for a treat. May look complicated at first but once you get used to it you'll love it, will argue its one of the best transmissions going

@@daispatrick its been owned by AGCO since the 90s. Aliss-Gleaner Coperation (AGCO). But MF itself was shipping all sorts of machinery over to the USA in the 70s and 80s. Fairly common knowledge.

Next fall come to North Mississippi and spend a week with us. Baler pickers, big IH combines in rice, and as much as I hate anything to do with a damned peanut, we can do some of that too. Love the Big Tractor Power videos! Lets show something other than Western Kentucky and Illinois. Deep gumbo mud in the Mississippi rice field's would be cool.

They are not sold any where close around here (West Tn.), John Deere ,Case-International ,Kubota and a very few Ford-New Holland .But seen some years ago but that`s all. Really enjoy watching your videos .

I run 2 MF 8570 Combines and a MF 6499 tractor in Montana hard to find much in Montana. I also run a 8070 Allis Chalmers, I wish Agco could have a bigger presence here. Way better than Case or John Deere!

have a massey dealer in my small town of seneca south dakota. they have a large coverage area almost three states and have very good reputatin for having parts on hand. small faimly business and have customers that fly in for parts with their small planes. same tractor as the caterpiller two and front wheel drive. made in minneosata we ocassionally haul one back from the factory for them

I've always liked Massey Fergusson their tractors are always seem to be good looking but I think time's have moved on and Massey seem to be left behind, in my opinion I think John Deere are year's ahead of most of it's competitors they seem to have a tractor and implements for every occasion, all the very best. It is the same transmission, it just the way it was setup, one with prédéterminés speed like a powershift and the other like a Vario of fendt

Yes the Dyna Shift is similar to Dyna VT. Dyna Shift shifts through all the gears were VT is seamless.

They use GPS to Skip 30ft to make fast wide turns and when they get to one end of the field they go back and catch all the skips.

Crossing the rows help knock down the ridges and fill in furrows. Hitting the rows at a diagonal gives a smooth ride compared to a bouncy ride if you run perpendicular to the rows.

We used to run Massey equipment but it is my opinion that agco is putting to much European design in there equipment since they have gotten into bed with fendt I made the decision to stop buy equipment made by agco start buying tractors and combines only built in the united states by the American worker. I just want to support the American work and not companies that keep taking the business over seas.

AGCO is an American based company. AGCO squired Fendt In 1998 for their CVT transmission which has become a standard item in many AGCO tractors. High horse power Massey tractors, Challenger tractors and tracked Fendt tractors are built in Jackson, MN. John Deere builds 6R tractors in Germany and 5E tractors in India. Most tractor manufactures have a global presence.

@@bigtractorpower I don't care if agco is an American company and I live and hour away from the plant in jackson and fendt was not and a American design and since they have climbed into bed with fendt they have pretty much forgot about massey ferguson aspeshally since they are pushing that ideal fendt combine if you don't believe me ask any custom cutter on the wheat run or in western Canada that sill run Massey they are looking at switching brands like we have. Now I know massey combine are currently built in kansas but for how long rumors out there say that massey is on the way out so that why we switched our combines are built in grand island and tractor are built in fargo and racine.
