Thanks, for pointing me in the right direction with my Perkins 3.152 engine M/F 35. My combustion chamber cap seals still leak despite first annealing them and later replacing them with new ones. I'll try machining a relief on the caps now. Also one of the injectors dribbles slightly despite having a new tip fitted, and ideas on how to cure that please?

How are you determining it dribbles. If it leaks before the set break point the new nozzle is bad damaged or has trash in it.

I've got the same engine in an mf 35. I've got a fuel leak on the number one cylinder at the supply fuel line connection. Are fuel lines still available for these older models? Or can the lines be repaired?

The fuel lines are still available from various places. But in a lot of cases the return lines are easier just to make new yourself.

I have a 3.152 Perkins in a boat .I have just rebuilt the engine and fitted an aftermarket cylinder head . The problem I have is the engine keeps blowing the gasket to the combustion chamber on the aftermost cylinder .Any clues as to why that might be please?

Sounds like you have a indirect injected motor. They are very bad to do that. The aftermarket three hole replacement gaskets are not as good as the originals that were just a copper ring. One thing you can try is heat annealing the three hole copper gaskets. Use a torch heat them and let them cool slowly. This will make the copper softer and usually we'll get them to seal. If that doesn't work machining a reveal on the Cover plate is the surefire cure.

I have a Massey 243 same engine. Can anyone tell me why my engine would pump white smoke smells like pure diesel only at about 800 to 900 RPM. Once I throttle past that the engine runs smooth no smoke good power. I’m hoping it’s injectors and not the pump, I spent almost $800 about two years ago rebuilding the pump
