YES, an amazing collection, especially sealed. As you say, the key thing here is there are many well known albums you filled through, but you only see CD copies available as the vinyls versions were pressed in lower & lower numbers during the 80s, sure to CDs. So to see a copy on LP is just amazing.

Wishing you were local to me… I would be buying about 100 or more of those in a heartbeat. There’s a few in there that I’ve spent years trying to find out-of-print, clean copies of.

I was happy to see the Duran Duran and Howard Jones albums. Amazing to see all the sealed 80s records.😊

This guy had the same taste as i do - even the uk 12inchers. Some of these are common sealed cutouts, but most are amazing to see sealed. Ive been collecting forever, so i know exact titles that are common to see still sealed. im an old guy, whos been collecting since 83, and bumped it up in the 90s, when most people went cd and abandoned vinyl. The 90s were the greatest time to collect vinyl,, cause the stuff was still new enough to be in good shape, and it was free or ridiculously cheap. If only i had lived in a house, instead of a tiny studio apt in the 90s, i could have bought more.

Wow, what an amazing collection! He was into everything. Looking forward to seeing more of his Beatles and Queen. Did he have any obscure 70’s rock like T2, May Blitz, Hard Stuff, Toad, Aphrodite‘s child? Possibly Vertigo labels as well?

Waiting for you to load these into Discogs, I'm interested in the 12" singles from The Cult, Love And Rockets, and so many more! The only thing I worry about is possible warping since they have been sealed for such a long time. But, hey this is a fantastic collection!

What a big collection of records!! Also the records are mostly in very good condition. I wish i were there to select them! Out of this LP record collection, the following are among my best choise:- Dire Straits, Level 42, The Police, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Queen, Bad Company, Badfinger, The Knack, The Kinks, Allanah Miles, The Cult, U 2, Peter Gabriel, Steve Winwood, Iron Maiden, Julian Lennon, George Benson, Bruce Springsteen, Mike & The Mechanics, The Stranglers, Tears For Fears, A Flock Of Seagulls, Black Uhuru, Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley etc. I saw a lonely Rita Coolidge, Santana, Depache Mode & Crowded House album each. I hope you go through the records at a slower speed. Thank you for the video! 🎉

Cool video. I’ve visited your store when visiting family and it’s “one of the good ones”. LOTS of used vinyl. But one little correction. I don’t find much of this collection to be rare per se. CDs only really took hold in the mid-late ‘80s. A lot of this collection pre-dates that. Late ‘80s and early ‘90s vinyl are a different kettle of fish, as demonstrated by, for example, and original pressing of Nevermind (late ‘91 release). That’s a $400 record if you can find it in Mint condition, even though the album sold bazillions of copies, mostly on CD.

Well, you don't see Cactus World News in a collection very often, so there's that. Otherwise mostly fairly common releases, save for some of the 12" Singles/Remixes. Looks like most are RE-sealed as well.

I been collecting Records since I was 8 years old. I'm pretty sure this was not someones collection but more likely a Record Store that went out of business. I'd guess around 1990 due to the C.D. boom at the time. This stuff looks like a lot of the stuff id see in the late 80's and I see a lot of marked down prices probably due to C.D. There is one thing I have not seen in a long time. What is the name of that Motorhead album with the deep sea diver on it ? It was probably a bootleg or unofficial Compilation.
@janath91183 ай бұрын
I am a man living in South Asia. But i think that this collection is not likely from a record store that went out of business. I think that they are still in business - Record Collectors Paradise in Edmonton, Canada. Please read the information written underneath this video, which is self explanatory. Regarding the particular Motorhead album which you quizzed, check with the Wikipedia site on Internet. Just type and click "Motorhead (band) discography" and you will get almost all information regarding this band's albums and compilations.

1980-1986 was the peak of vinyl sales and manufafturing so they arent rare at all. After 1987 till now yes records werent mass produced like the early 80s.

Cd´s only took over in early 90´s before one would pay half for a record and cds had not a equal sound ,some songs had missed sounds or just recorded so low that one would have to listen real loud to hear a guitar that in records had a high sound level ,the main problems with cds ,a steril sound, for some who never had a aceptable record player(from technics less than what today is 100€ ) was a improvement but in the 80´s only for rich people and cds were diferent from today ,the material was more expensive and harder to get skiped songs, i have cds from the 80´s washed in a kitchen and none is skipping if i did the same to 90´s cds none would play, but only bought 7 cds till 93 ,but had around 50 at home to hear from friends and my father had them and i would go to his house to get them
@janath91183 ай бұрын
Are the sound quality of CD's lower than vinyl!? Yes, vinyl always have the natural sound quality but CD's are not that bad. Now there are many bootleg CD manufacturers who sell CD's at cheap prices but they are often of very low in quality both in their manufacture and sound quality. That's why the skippings occur and that some are not playable. Those are not properly recorded in CD burners (recorders) in factories but in mediocre computer driver duplicators. If you are buying CD's, you must buy the original CD's manufactured in renowned, big companies. Then there will not be any problems of this sort. The vinyls always sound better because they cannot be manufactured in computer duplicators in this way. 😊

i have the doble Lp showed from sex Pistols as the ex-pistols E.P. in 78 rpm size, after the second bass player ,Sid Vicious death. Some complain about 80´s music but there never was a decade with so many labels releasing lot´s of diferent good music as alternative labels were selling a lot when alternative meaned alternative, mainstream music was a bit strange ,some independent label´s bands make it to the top but dozens of good bands don´t appear in 80´s compilations who only have 10% of the most heard music, that only the ones who just listen to the Radio know them like "top ten" bands like Modern Talking , Scotch, Sandra and the still together Ah-Ah , Madona , Bros ,between many others who were hit bands, maybe only some had a interesting song .

Ok not sure what city youre in but where i grew up records were still quite well stocked in the front of stores until 1990. Cassettes were on the walls and cds were in the back of the store. By 1992 all of the big brand stores didnt have records anymore , but Target did because i worked there in late 92 and still bought many records while employed. Get some info correct , then do a video.

Not that I am questioning your memory but just check out an artist like Neil Young & look at the availability of his albums as you hit the late 80's and early 90's. Early 90's albums are very tough to find period. Same with other artists from that same era. Numbers don't lie!

It was common in the 1980's for Record Stores such as Mister Sound to write the prices on the shrink. The previous owner was strictly a collector.

I'm sorry you haven't heard a clean record through a huge sound system - you must be very young.
@janath91183 ай бұрын
@georgebertozzi8267 You are wrong! Although bands use digital studios now, vinyl has never lost its glory, and the demand for vinyl is not faltering but is rising around the world. And there is proof. It seems that you are not in touch with the music media market of today. Also it seems that you have not listened to any good vinyl on a good stereo sound system. Check and read the latest international authentic reports giving information regarding music and its recorded formats, then you will understand it correctly. Sales of vinyl reduced in the 1980's with the arrival of CD's, but with time, after about 2000', again the vinyl started to gain and sales kept rising up. I know that people have different tastes of preferences. But It is not crappy noisy vinyl. Analog is not dead either. The latest vinyl are not crappy or noisy anymore.
