To anyone who says this is easy; Go out and find a beaver dam that you are allowed to remove and give it a try. I did and I discovered that it is hard, stinky, exhausting work with little to no reward other than personal satisfaction at a job well done. Mantis has been doing this for years and probably knows more about beaver dams than 90% of the viewers combined.

Amazes me every time one of these dams gives way, regardless of how you get it done, the channel gets opened up so the fields can be recovered for planting or harvesting. It's not easy work by any means. Speaking from years of personal landscaping experience, working in the heat, cold, rain, wind, it's all hard on the body. If you're like me the joy is in the work...good for you living your dream!

You’re never going to please everyone no matter what you do or don’t do, there’s always going to be someone who isn’t happy. Just concentrate on making yourself happy because if you do that it will come across in your videos and make them more enjoyable for the majority of people. If you try too hard to please others you’ll stop enjoying what you do and that’ll spoil things for you - and those of us who love your enthusiasm. You’re doing great!

Thank you Mantis for driving so far from your home. You are a dynamic young man who does a very good service for your people. Thank you for showing a good service. Yes this thing collapsed before you had been too busy with it's removal. I think the beavers did not have enough time after the excavator left. This resulted in a quick job for the beavers to fill in the excavator removal. Not sure exactly at what time of the year you removed this but did not seem too hot for quick work. The multiple channels made more farmer discomfort from water soaked fields. Our big tractors are hard to remove from getting stuck in such boggy ground. Thanks Mantis.

You must be part mountain goat! Good catch on the breaking. We know what time it takes to remove all the sticks and mud to get to the dam bottom. People that can.t understand that have no clue what hard work is. Or they just have no patience. Either way, don't change a thing. You are a joy to watch.

When I watch videos like this, of people doing things they are skilled at, I often have weird thoughts like "well he should just...". However, I am smart enough to know that many of my thoughts are stupid and not worth repeating. If I didn't have those thoughts though, I would know I had lost interest and I would move along. Some people just haven't learned that not all thoughts are worth sharing. Keep up the good work!

So great to hear from people who aren't sure which end of the shovel to hold much less what it's used for. I know you have a potato rake because I recognize it. They think it's like playing with sand. If the 'experts' clued in to what waterlogged soil, reed grass, stones, and wood weighs they'd shut their mouths. It weighs the same as cement with large aggregates. You're stronger than you look.
