I live in coastal New Zealand so haven't ever experienced a snow storm but we had worst cyclone in recorded history last year. I think it's called a hurricane in your part of the world? Our local rivers did so much damage! Took out homes, orchards, roads, railway lines, bridges etc. I appreciate the power of water more than ever. Great job, glad you're safe! 👍❤

This type of drain in this type of location would have to get a lot more debris to become a problem. The water could rise another 5-10 feet without it flooding. The bottom of the grate gets clogs, the water flow slows and rises and the water goes over the clog. That is how it is designed. That being said, it was still a fantastic job of unclogging. Great job!
@UpNorthMowingDude
@UpNorthMowingDude 6 ай бұрын
You are correct Rich. I can't imagine it flooding in there. Probably the only downside to water getting too high would be erosion on the shore where they don't want erosion. Ultimately it's just fun to go splash around a little bit. :)

The channel on the exit end has not been opened. You were supposed to do it last year in a video. Tad disappointed. So relaxing to see the water flow. So perfect for Saturday afternoon video watch. Have an overflow like this on one of my ponds because of beavers having a tendency to dam up the creek used to get out there and clean it by hand like you did. But we have now modified it to where I can just go pick it up with a grapple on our excavator and now all the debris and water drains out instantly.

@TheMrDarius
@TheMrDarius 2 ай бұрын
@@megsinaus4207 okay gloves help to a degree but if your hands aren't warming up you place the mother fuckers in your armpit. This is cold weather training I've received while in the army because I was stationed in a cold place. In extreme cold with your extremities you gotta keep them warm and that means placing them on reliable warm parts of your body like your arm pits leg pits and around your core where it's always going to be warm. Your extremities in the cold get a reduced blood supply so it makes it harder for them to warm up on their own and with gloves. Thanks for playing
