Hey all, just to clarify, the start of this video was filmed in July of last year. Then it jumped to me this morning 😂 and then when I traded in the books, it was October last year. So I'll be taking my current stack on books into Chapters this weekend, but I won't be buying anything until my book buying ban is over 📚 Peace and love!!

Out with the old and in with the new is always a great feeling!

It certainly is! I'm trying my best to be more mindful of what I purchase these days focusing on need over want

Another great video. I agree with everything you said about Trainspotting, however if you're interested in what happens to the characters I would recommend his book Dead Men's Trousers, which I thought was a much easier read.

I think i got a chapter or two into the Hex audiobook before I abandoned it years ago. I was interested to see if you'd make me change my mind on it but nope, think I was safe to dnf it 😂

It could be just that the translator did a bad job, but I still maintain my opinion, man did that book suck! 😂

Ooh Alan Moore! Have you ever checked out his prose work? I loved Voice of the FIre, a collection of dark short stories from 1995.

I have yet to do so! I want to get to that as well as Illuminations and Jerusalem

Inspiring video for the reason that it is always so difficult for me to get rid of books......but I really need to! Lol I liked the thought process you go through for deciding to remove the book. Will you read it again, would you prefer a better copy, are you not a fan of the jacket art ( I totally get that). So I will be applying that criteria to my books soon. We have a second hand book store here in Knoxville, TN called McKay's that I have a store credit with & would like to grow that credit amount. Cool video, (even had elements of time travel - Lol).
@RGsDevilship6 ай бұрын
Yeah it's tough getting rid of stuff, I find clothes and CDs to be the hardest for me. But I guess I like the feeling of being about to trade my books or video games for store credit to get something new to me without having to actually spend money. Glad you liked the time travel!! 🛸 😂

I got rid of that same Rosemary's Baby book for the exact same reason hahaha I didn't want to look at it anymore! I kinda want the 50th anniversary edition though, cause I love the book and that one is gorgeous!

We must be on the same wavelength because I was thinking the same thing about the 50th anniversary edition 😂

Great Video, I'm in the process of getting ride of my books to not because I don't like them, but i read a lot, I'm heart broken because like you said money and counting on the books that I gotta get rid of it's thousands but hopefully other people could get joy out of them. Your Awesome. I was wondering, do you like Mystery Novels? I just got into those kinds of Novels. Have you Read Ken Bruen

It's okay to unhaul a book because of the cover. Love Bret Easton Ellis too! But I can't seem to bring myself to read more of his stuff aside from American Psycho and Less then Zero and its sequel (agree with you it wasn't great).

If you're looking for one of his books on the shorter side, Rules of Attraction is pretty good. I keep meaning to read Lunar Park as well but something in my keeps putting it off 😅

@@RGsDevilship Oh! I'll give it a go. Every time I think about reading Lunar Park, I just stare at the cover. XD

THANK YOU for talking about the 'nontent' of unhauls. soooo sick of seeing unhaul videos where the majority of the books are ones from a previous video's '300 BOOK HAUL!' that are all unread.
@RGsDevilship6 ай бұрын
I totally agree! It's so annoying that mentality has infiltrated so many people's process when making unhauls, it's sucked the personality out of them. I want opinions damn it!! 😂

Exactly! I know it's their money and they can do what they want, but what if someone was really looking for that book that day you came in and bought it and they were sold out when they got there? Of course I know they can always go somewhere else, but really like how therapeutic is it to go to your favorite book store and find the book your looking for?

I don't use tiktok but you kind of see the tiktok hype everywhere anyway. The books they talk about is books I stay away from even though it's horror. Someow tiktok book recs doesn't seem trustworthy to me.

I think the general Tiktok recommendations that you now see on tables in bookshops are good to get people into reading for the first time. But yeah, not the best quality stuff for the experienced reader
