The TT has a Bose amplified system. The aftermarket pioneer has an adaptor to link to the Bose amp. This is what causes the popping when opening the door and when turning the ignition on. I'm pretty sure you cant do anything to change this and just live with it.

Some good-looking acquisitions that I imagine will soon look as good as new. When I buy a car, I do my research first then make my requirements clear to the salesperson, armed with full knowledge of the make and model that they have in stock that I wish to buy. I ensure my trade-in is immaculate to the point that some have sold within half a day before the dealer valets them. I have had great service from all car dealers over the decades and have nothing but praise for the industry..

Check the rubbers round the doors on the CMax. My wife’s is the same year as that, same colour and the rubbers in the doors are falling off. Air con has also shot it- at only 48000 miles. Love that Citroen.

That noise maybe the Bose amp in the boot. They have a tendency to get a bit wet in that area due to bad drainage causing the amp to perish. I had the garage I bought mine from send it away for re-furb, costs about £150. Upgraded Suzuki Swift!! Bloody cheek…

Dunno who told you the c max is a 1.5 diesel it’s a 2.0 DW10 another shared Peugeot lump. Could tell from the noise starting up (sad thing of working on them) So that will pull even better 150HP much more torque than the 1.5 and generally more reliable

TSI/TSFI is the same thing. Depending on whether the Audi TT has got the Gen1 or Gen3 TSI engine, if its a Gen1 you'll need to check the timing chain tensioner has been changed for the revised part. They are notorious for falling apart and failing (there was a class action lawsuit in the US for the engine and this issue, theres loads of videos on KZbin about this issue ).

@@fuzzy-daddy83 Cruise control adds cost to the car. Adding the speed limiter basically costs nothing. You already have the speed sensor and throttle position sensor data. So all it does is monitor the speed that is set and once it hits the limit it just ignores the positive signal from the throttle position sensor. It's real use is to help stop you accidentally speeding which is helpful to new drivers, which this car is aimed at. It's also hard to implement good cruise control on a manual car with such low power. Hilly bits of motorway requires you dropping down to forth gear.

I'd rather my car was serviced by chimps! Haven't used Kwik Fit since 1985, when I took my Mk1 Escort Mexico in for 2 new rear tyres. Driving back I home had to brake a bit harder than normal and the back end went really light and got very twitchy. I discovered that they had inflated the tyres to double the recommended pressure. Phoned them to complain, and the manager obviously didn't give a shit. Never been near them since.

My car is on mobility and I had to have some new tyres on they inflated my tyres but ones on the car and they both looked flat I asked if they could pump them up and was told there at 35psi I said have you checked the psi for my vehicle and they said yes so I pointed out that the minimum was 45psi and got told that the plate on the vehicle was wrong bare in mind I was ones and tyre tech for ats I drove 20 meters down the road and got pulled by police they said that them 2 tyres need air I explained what had happened and the escorted me back to Kwik fit and lay down the law to the manager and fitter who had done the job and they got put up to 45psi sharply

It didn't matter what car I took to them to service, MOT or other mechanical repairs that needed doing (Saab 9-5 Aero, then a Mk8 Honda Civic 2.2 diesel, followed by an Alfa Romeo 159 ti sportwagon) and they sorted them out with no dramas or bullshit or silly repair bills. I have just recently purchased a Honda CR-Z hybrid, and I am interested to see what they make of the car when I bring it in for its next MOT and service.

I think you’re right on the pxs that TT will give you trouble , I think the px from alex is worth selling as is . Have you ever thought of doing a bargain corner for your pxs sold as seen without warranty , or is that troublesome. You need to get some of them cars prepped and advertised James

Personally I would buy the TT with a few minor cosmetic issues. I wouldnt retail it though as those engines are very sporadic in their reliability once you start getting near 6 figure mileage.

I feel like the dealer he buys from isn’t the best 😂. Said the TT was a 2.0 TFSI. The c-max was a 1.5 TDCI when actually TT is the 1.8 and C max is a 2.0 😂😂. Better research needs to be done

Service history says it all about the average TT driver. Kwik Fit and Audi are a match made in heaven. Both big names , both overpriced and both very average. Trade it out like you said is the way to go with that

Funny isn't it that many regard Audi as the pinnacle of engineering/build quality/reliability. It is a myth. They appear to be nicely built and made of good quality materials but they really are middle of the road when it comes to reliability.

Do you think there would be a market for second hand cars where you did do everything? Then did an everything warranty. So new tyres, brakes, bushes, mounts, detail it, so like car is new. But over half the price of a new car. How much is newer cars because of stature and how much is because of reliability no worries for atleast 10,000 miles kind of thing. Maybe you should do an experiment be good content if it ends up an ornament on your forecourt 🙂

I'd see what a trade bid is on the TT then just stick 500 on that, do an advert, after all that's what the person who you'll trade it to will do, I mean would you just throw 500 quid on the fire? You don't need to do full on retail everlasting warranty, de, da, de da, just put a nice drink on it and sell it, you've drove it around and it's OK so get it flogged mate, over a year giving other traders theses gems really builds up, if they come back in the first few days just refund them, I did exactly that on a cheap mini the other day, if a cars 80% OK get it punted out, obviously you can't do everything, keep your gob firmly shut when your selling re legals and get that sale, tbh I trade nothing at all, you'll always get a better price off a private man, whatever car it is, at the absolute worst just say it's not for you and refund, can't believe you keep trading out prime retail stock, but it's up to you bud.
