the flare gun being fired from the house just before the explosion seems to be a clear indication that there’s a deeper and more sinister nature to this incident. Especially being in washington DC. I believe the flare being shot was a predetermined message to his criminal cohorts to let them know his cover and this safe house has been blown, figuratively and literally. He prob didn’t have time to use the usual untraceable method, so he shoots the flare instead- which communicates the urgency as well. I would suspect there is a a house within eyesight/earshot of the flare, & upon seeing the signal, they changed their plan of action and/or the date at which they will carry out their ‘mission’. Two extraordinary events happening in such close succession is never just a coincidence. This is the second house this week in america to detonate.

​@catdog7497 gas leak, poor management of hazardous materials, usually they are only potent enough to blow out panel piece parts like Windows and walls, often the main structure itself will still remain standing Though there is also the possibility that, like myself, the original commenter isn't American and isn't used to houses made of plywood, ours houses can be hit by a bus and still be mostly okay, a house explosion in a house that has an actually strong structure may look different to an American one, and as such the damage my by default look worse than what we'd come to expect even from the same sort of explosion
