Thanks for doing a video on this! The one thing that irritates me though is the lack of any news reporting on the fact this also impacts all mental health therapists. Apparently, our claims can go through a minimum of 6 different intermediaries to get from the provider to the insurance company, and your average outpatient mental health therapist won't even know what those 6+ companies are. If Change Healthcare is anywhere in that pipeline, the claim is stalled out until things get fixed. Insurance companies routinely take their sweet time to pay us (and just ignore state law that requires them to pay interest on any late payments), and this hack will definitely delay payments to providers even longer. :/

We need to guide "influential ppl" through the completely (socially) "accessible" emotional concepts of gaining and losing "possession of a lot of people". Brand it as a spiritual journey: Possible. Say "life's a trip" to them and go back to dealing with post-malpractice complications: Needs Further Elaboration. This isn't really about being the world's scariest drinking partner. Theoretically, A LOT OF PEOPLE should be ABLE to do this. So, where the heck are they? Because clearly, nobody around here understands what money is, nor why the healthcare "system" has "imperfections". Is there really a need to turn them into social outcasts, who may only ever expect to ever talk to strangers?

We need heroic hackers to hack for good, instead of these evil hackers hacking for evil..

We have them. They work for the government and don't officially exist; the new spies.

We do. There are white hat hackers that find holes in systems. The problem is your average white hat makes around $63k a year, while your black hat hacker can make millions.

@@diyeanaPreach. The government puts out the call and plenty of folks want to pitch in, but capitalism... What can I say -- support the public-private partnerships (eg., CISA) and demand better of BOTH halves. If we can send Uber's head nerd to jail for bad infosec practices, why not some UHC corporate officers?!

I've said it before I'll say it again anti trust laws, use them! If you can easily rattle off all the companies that provide one very important service then there's a problem with that service.

So if the government and healthcare owning each other is bad, how are those conflicts of interest settled when you have socialized medicine (single-payer healthcare, non-private)?

As someone who works in another healthcare transaction company, this thing has been a mess the whole time and it's not wrapping up soon. But I was looking forward to your take :D

Yes... the own the legal thing...the government ! CMS reimbursed Medicare Advantage (MA) plans. Coincidence of Cyberattack and CMS warning regarding MA plans reimbursements and pre authorization for MA ?
@angelagunn79868 ай бұрын
It is coincidence. More than one thing can be happening at once this being cybersecurity (and American insurance).
