Nice job. A suggestion for your tool kit: A long handled, 5 tine pitchfork. For picking up the brush without having to bend over. I use mine all the time, works great.

You video is so cathartic. We have a similar situation. Lots of ivy growing from the other side of a fence. And we deal with it in the same way. I was in your pretty country in 1974.I got some kin that were from the Londonderry area or north of it,they left in 1700.We saw mostly the counties near Shannon airport and the famous ones for 10 days.We loved the medieval banquet at Bunratty.We only had 1 day of rain,the day we flew home.

I've been fighting with English Ivy for years. Once it's established like that, you'll never be rid of it. The best you can hope for is control, but it grows so fast and sends suckers under ground if you are not on top of it, you end up with a mess very quickly.

Totally agree with you, guess the solution is to cut the ivy back continuously to keep it nice and green, and not let it get so overgrown, but, yes, surprising how so many people prefer the concrete block wall...
