Its just so frustrating to lose players that would have signed with Michigan as recently as 2021 if not for this NIL. MICHIGAN, please figure out how to do NIL the right way. We should be leading the country in recruiting right now. A national championship, 3 straight Big Ten titles, 3 consecutive wins over OSU, this is crazy how hard it is to get kids to come to Michigan right now. Just mind-blowing.

I know it was probably more to do with nil but this makes Alford look bad as well. He had a relationship with Davis for a long time hate to say it till he lands a top back. There's a reason why day gave him a pay cut and not a contract extension js.

Phil I told you when you said it was a done deal that it wasn't. There's two guys to listen to Birm and Marc Givler. Both are no nonsense about recruiting and both said that he was just as likely to end up at Kentucky or Tennessee as Michigan and that's what I told you. The Michigan so-called experts have to learn there's a difference between really wanting a guy and it being really likely that that guy is going to sign with you. Those aren't the same things.

Diehard Michigan fan here as well, and you're not saying anything untrue. It's all coming down to the money at this point. Can a school like Kentucky really "outbid" a school like Michigan?!?! No way, unless the powers-that-be allow it to be so, which is apparently the case. All the momentum that we should have coming off of a Natty, 3 straight B1G 10 titles, etc., and we are struggling to get high level recruits makes no sense. That is, until you consider NIL....this is obviously where UofM is failing!!!

With all due respect, Kentucky has one of the best development and training staff in the SEC, they have invested alot into the football program over the last 6-7 years or so. They have had some solid years as well with top 25 classes beating big ten teams like penn state and iowa, and NTM Mark stoops has connections in ohio and he also is well respected among alot of former players including when he coached at miami in the early 2000s where he helped to develop players like ed reed and such. From what ive seen is Kentucky has a family atmosphere that alot of recruits love and its unique. There have been numerous players that Kentucky has came in and swooped that normally would have been at Ohio State, Michigan or penn state. They have a solid program down there for sure.
