Honestly, when I was watching the video, I was thinking, u rly made serveral mistakes. BUT! Actually if put myself in ur senario, I don't think I could do better. So, at least u got this perfect experience. Hope u can have a second chance to catch it bro.

That's tough dude, my recommendation is to have a glove in your pocket at all times, pull em hard into edge, beach em and go the mouth grab all in quick time. Better luck next time NSW

All good suggestions man. I put a glove in my pocket now, it was in my backpack. Hindsight is a cruel teacher eh, especially when it's filmed and you can analyze it. I made so many mistakes. It wasn't the best place to land it, to rocky and I should have used the rod rather than trying to leader it in open water or found a beach and dragged it up. It wanted to get under the ledge I brought it over in the deeper water. I should have used that to my advantage and tried to bring it side on to a boulder, sometimes they just rest their heads against them and stop. I left my bag behind with my pliers etc in it and chased it downstream. I didn't want to go any further down stream and have to carry it back over all those boulders. Everyone has to learn how to handle the different gear they use though experience and some coaching from more experienced people. If you're going to say hand on or infront of the reel, then just say this. I don't think he did such a bad job that you should be commenting on techniques, you weren't there and shit can just happen while fishing.
