I see that the input is 16-60v/10a... Will this work with a single 12 volt solar panel or do you need multiple in series to increase voltage over 16v?

I always enjoy your reviews, they’re straight-forward and very informative. As a direct result of this video I used your link and promo code and bought one to use in my 10x16 cabin. I have a Reliance 30a inlet to 120v outlet thru the wall setup so I can charge the unit from outside the cabin using my gas inverter generator. I’m just getting tuned in to solar though and have two Renogy 100w panels right now, planning to get two more. So thank you Prof, I’m looking forward to delivery.

Thank you for your clear teaching ability and numerous excellent video blogs. I just received my 2400wh MAXOAK bluetti EB240 power station along with two 1000 wh Jackery power stations and two Jackery solar panels. I also have the smallest Jackery... I think I may be ready for the yearly power outages that happens at my Mojave Desert home. I'm 83 and the bluetti EB IS a bit heavy to be moving around very much, but in my case it will be positioned in my kitchen neatly tucked under a pantry shelf waiting for the routine Southern California Edison power to go off--usually when the temp. outside is over 110. I love all these power stations... what great advancements in technology ! Thank you once more Mr. Hobo Tech. Your recommendations are so very much appreciated.

Hi David! Since you live in similar weather conditions (I live & work in Las Vegas), what are you using for air conditioning and what (and how many) solar panels are you using with your Bluetti 2400wh? I'm 66 and last October ended up with a Pacemaker, and I still teach full time. But the summer heat (yesterday it registered 119 degrees on my thermometer!!!) has become a bit too much. I've only had 2 power outages by NV Energy here this season. Thank you!

Boom. Exactly what I needed four out little off-grid cabin. THANKS again for your review and for taking the time to answer my questions. I got the 2400wh model and 6 BOUGERV 170w Solar Panels. Doing 2 groups of 3 in series and then in parallel gives me exactly 67.3 volts to the input as long as I use 60 foot of cable. I just tested it on a super sunny day here so I'm sure I may have to play around with it a bit more when I have my final setup but I'm pleased. Now we will rarely have to run our gas generator at the cabin as we rarely go over 1000W. Thanks again.

Hi professor, thanks for being so professional and thanks for this rewiev. Im going to get something like this later or but for now im going in another direction. Ive been living in a camper 2 years, loved it, moved back to apartment, dont like it so im moving back , this time into a van. Situation: I live in a city with charging possibilities all around in public places like restaurants, librarys and cafee shops. Also I work at a gym that i have acces to a 24 hours and at care centers where i sometimes work over night, so charging through wall wont be a problem, therefore i wont go for solar panels (that can be ripped of the van and giving tip of to burglers) - instead im looking for a small portable powehouse that i can easily put in my bag ( witch i cary around anyway) and that will fill my needs. My needs are: to be able to, in one charge, at least be able to charge my phone and run my laptop for 10 + hours, im also going to use the powerhouse for lights and maybe a little fan at night. For me, fast charging and light weight is the most important issue since my plan is to cary that thing with me every second/third day or so. To be able to charge fast ( around 3-4 hours) and then stay online for 2-3 days on one charge would be awesome, cuz im kind of fed up allready having to stay at the restaurant for around 1 hour to charge my phone and laptop, i couldnt possible stay 6 hours lol, and i dont wanna be at the gym "all the time "! =D So im not using fridge, AC, TV and stuff like that, only phone, lights and laptop - what would be your recomandation? Thnk you - Don Gabo in Sweden

@@gabrielmarshman2819 hi and we were able to travel 3 1/2 months and over 9000 miles that summer with no issues. The only thing we would do differently would be to put larger watt panels to produce more. However, our budget didn’t allow it at the time. Thanks for asking!

@@gabrielmarshman2819 I will have to check tomorrow and get back to you. It’s dark now and there are no lights where our camper is kept. Funny you should mention a sailboat. We lived aboard a 32 ft. sailing cruiser for 8 years before settling on land and purchasing a Runaway camper. Though our solar setup on the boat went to batteries with a 1000w inverter. That setup kept us with power quite well.

I own one of these and have been powering my full-size, side-by-side Fridgidaire refrigerator off of it for over a week (supplying 700w of solar). Max overnight use goes from 5 bars to 3 so it should easily be able to run an extra day with no solar available. I live in Houston so we have hurricanes and this is a concern. One thing that DOES bug me is that if the AC is left on overnight (aforementioned fridge) and the sun comes up the next day, the MPPT seems to only charge at half-rate even with full solar (!). I have to power the unit completely down, unplug the solar input, plug it back in and power it back up and it will use the full juice off the solar. Not sure what is going on but very frustrating MPPT operation for continuous use. Keep up the great videos!

You have probably already heard this by now, but Bluetti updated their firmware on the 1500 Watt model as well. It is rated at 68 Volts just like your 2400 watt model there in the video, however the tech department told me that it would usually cut out at or a little over 67 volts, JUST like you showed on your video!!! Haha. I happen to get lucky and had problems with my first one and I ended up getting the updated model with the higher voltage input limit. Just thought I might mention it just by some slim chance that you hadn’t heard it. Love your channel! Keep it up, Cheers

This is the video that answered my questions best, and how I discovered HOBOTECH. My EB240 is still going strong, and I'm always nodding in understanding when you bring the ugly blue box out while testing other modern panels and generators. A solid workhorse. P.S., Yes, you can totally run an InstantPot off of this one, and that cycles off enough that it really doesn't take many Wh at all!

Thanks for the in depth reviews on your channel! It's a much better way to do reviews than, "This power brick is really cool. Buy it!" like so many others. Being a techie myself, I prefer the hard data your tests provide. I have yet to buy one since I assumed they all had the same cheaply made Chinese internals and were all about the same. I would seriously consider a MAXOAK now.

Hi, great video as usual! Would you say that the EB240 is suitable to be connected to solar panels that are on the roof of campervan so that it can charge via solar when driving and is it safe to have it constantly connect to the solar panels for full time van life or is it better suited to just solar charging when the van is stationary? I'm asking because the connector that runs the solar into the EB240 doesn't look very sturdy so i wonder if it might unplug itself while driving? Thanks for any help!

First I would like to say thanks for all the vital information you contribute on your channel. As a first time solar generator buyer I purchased the EB 240 with the 2- 200 watt bluetti solar panel kit. The length of the cable leaves a bit to be desired. I would like to add 40 to 50 ft to this unit if possible but do not want to purchase the wrong cable. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. This is the unit I purchased. I also opted for the 4 yr extended warranty. Hobo and Will together kick some serious ass.....Batman and Robin indeed! One is still Road, the other one is more Home now, and they both complement each other nicely......PERFECT! I just wish Batman's Batmobile was a bit more reliable, for his own good.

Hi, thank you for a great video and in depth review of the system. I would love to ask a question and hope for a response. I am getting the Bluetti EP240 with 4 BougeRV 180 watts mono solar panel 12 volt. Will a 30 feet 10 AWG solar extension cable be heavy enough to run the 4 panels at 30 feet?

I've been really enjoying your informative videos could you let me know what your opinion is on which product you would rather have during an extended grid down situation the eB 240 or the AC 200? I'm wondering in an emergency will either one operate a Residential well pump so I can get water and as well as other things

One thing I haven't seen (I m new subc catching up) on your videos I ve seen is length of cables to charge from panels or other source DC and cable gauges to watts effectively output to inverter etc...DC goes down a lot relative to gauge and length....hope my English is OK...bests

@@forrestmichnevich7371 No, the 10% was a Memorial week sale. But it was listed at $1899.00 and with Hobo's code it came to $1599.00. So instead of entering the code for 10%, I used the Hobo code.

I have two Goal Zero one 1000 and 1400 that cost well over $2900 I’m sad to say. I wish this unit came out first. My one Concern would be the recharge time because I don’t like sitting in the sun or positioning my vehicle for direct sunlight. I preferred to recharge my Equipment with my Honda en2200i. I’ll be glad when some company finally develop A multi-purpose fast charger that could be used on any solar battery. pack With variable voltage and amperage.

I have been wanting to purchase a portable solar battery system for the last year. This one completely will take of my needs, 1k inverter is perfect, that's more power than most people are aware of. For the price point this is the best on the market, I ordered one from Amazon using your discount code for $300 off! the total price was $1,699.99 no tax and free shipping. I have watched others reviews, but you by far explained the system in better detail. Thank you for the needed info and providing a real money saving code. I can't wait until I receive mine, estimated arrival 4/7-4/17 2020

D D: I ordered one too. I think my arrival date is a little further out than yours. Also, I wanted to order the Jackery 100W panels, but when I placed my order for the MaxOak, the only type of panels that were left were the Rockpals 80W. I had hoped to hook them up (4 of them) in series, I guess, to get 320Watts, but now I don't know if I can hook more than two of the Rockpals together in parallel. Hope you enjoy your battery when it arrives!

Thanks much. 3 Renogy 100 watt rigid panels used to go over 67.5 open circuit voltage, but 3 new version Renogy panels are under 67.3, FYI. And 300 watts is sufficient power for 2400 daily watt hours IMO (in Southern California near the ocean.) The new Bluetttis take more voltage and have higher inverter output. I run a Commercial Chef microwave on full blast on my 2400, which is just under 1000 watts on full blast. I have to flip off my dedicated power strip to my mini fridge when I max the Bluetti out with the microwave.

Thanks for your review.... It is basically a 1500 with more capacity and a few little things here and there. I wish for: 1) A more powerful inverter (1500 W) and true higher peak capacities (2000 W). 2) Upgraded HW for a higher/faster charging time, both solar and AC something the Goal Zero (1400, 3000) allows you to do if using their 2 ways concurrently. But hey, nothing is perfect and you have to compromise between price, features. portability/size and capabilities. This is the BEST DEAL so far in that battery size.

This all-in-one package is more and more getting my attention. In a Promaster camper van I would be using this type of solar generator to power 12 volt lights, water pump, TV, and USB outlets all connected to a fuse box. How would you connect this EB240 to the fuse box? Thanks

which power station Jackery, Bluetti, GoalZero, or Eco FLow works with any brand solar panel. That feature seems the most important. Also so that you don't have to make any special cable but just right out of the box. I think that would be a great video. thank you so much. your videos have helped so much

I was so happy with my first unit that I bought a 2nd. But on my new unit, I noticed the cooling fan doesn't turn on while charging (wall charger). I'm wondering if it's a new production model and they removed that feature? The LCD display is a little bit different as well. I know the cooling fan DOES work because I loaded more than 400w of AC to force it on, and it does work...
