I could then cut out the 1 piece of the video I knew contained it, appealed, and got it back Dealing with the same thing right now on a new video, but no specification. Appeal rejected in 7 minutes on a 23 min video

Also, something I want to add. Recently, KZbin made a survey for it's creators (That you can check on your KZbin Studio). A lot of these questions in the survey is related to the topic of this video in some way, and I noticed that the question being asked was somehow trying to manipulate you into thinking that KZbin is a good platform and is definitely a safe and cares about it's creators. One specific question says "What is your reaction when you heard/read a bad comment about KZbin" (I wrote this by memory, so correct me if I'm wrong), and I kid you not one of the checklist litterally says "I would be mad and angrily comments on them". Never have I been that angry when I filled a survey.

Also worth mentioning that Cory has explicitly said he was open to any other explanation for why youtube's moderation is unfair to his channel. I see some criticizing him that he doesn't have enough evidence to make such a big accusation, but youtube's lack of transparency is a big reason for why there's not much evidence, and that's not his fault. All he knows is that his channel is getting unfairly penalized at the worst times, and from all his efforts to communicate with youtube, he has gotten no plausible or consistent responses. All he can do is piece together his personal perspective of youtube to make a guess, and he clearly has the humility to accept if his guess turns out to be wrong and this issue could be solved another way.

The problem is the same for all of these platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc): trying to moderate with such a large scale of data is insanely difficult and the promised magic bullets of Machine Learning and AI aren't solving it. But they'll never admit that. It's why they have to low-key lean on human contractors who are doing additional moderation. Zuckerberg would rather sweat in front of Congress in hearings all day promising everything's under control, that once they tweak their systems everything will be fine, rather than admit that it's a problem they are failing at solving. This is exactly what's happening to me. After years of uploading and growing my channel it began to blow up in late February. My subscriber count went from 10 a day to 100 a day with almost every video jumping in views and then all of a sudden everything collapsed and since then my views and subs are just as before if not lower, but with only 16k subs I can seem to do anything about it. I'm really glad others are speaking out who have more influence on this platform. It seems like the time to start looking for alternative video websites

There's no human behind the appeals part, is the thing. I remember this from Tumblr when they decided to ban nsfw content. Not only did they immediately implement a bot algorithm to snag whatever seemed bad (including some of their own staff posts), but they apparently also deployed it for handling appeals, as I was seeing appeals get rejected 10 seconds after being sent, sometimes bouncing back immediately. There couldn't possibly be a human looking at the appeals. Even if it was over something quick to look at, like a photo, you'd still have to read the ticket and even then, people were getting rejections for pictures of cats. Unless this was an elaborate prank, punishing people for pet pics, there was definitely no people involved for a while and arguably still no involvement now. Also it's so weird that they are clearly aware you're not doing anything wrong, yet still rejected your appeal on the age-restriction. As for this poor guy, it's likely his account gets in the crosshairs every time he comes back and uploads because all the attention he pulls when he DOES. It attracts the attention of mods and bots involved in policing content. That said, there's been instances in the past where youtube seems to target poc or issues related to them. Like its handling of the political climate a few years ago, where it seemed to turn a blind eye to white supremacy and were going out of the way to "shadow ban" videos addressing racism issues. An algorithm is only as smart as the information put into it. Unfortunately, the majority of information that gets fed into these and basically any other AI is centered around a white (especially male) experience. There was that issue a while back where... I'm a lil fuzzy on it but basically law and justice AI was getting men of colour (especially black men) arrested because it kept misidentifying them as criminals, or something similar to that. Turns out the problem was that it had almost no data on anyone who wasn't white. But specifically in this case, since it's not going after every video with a black person/voice in it (as far as we know), then it seems pretty explicit there's someone or a few someones who just don't like the guy. Unless there's been some special input to the algorithm that alters it behaviour regarding certain youtubers vs others, but I feel like that'd be a lot of effort to have to undoubtedly update on a frequent basis.

I really don't think it's racism. I think it's just KZbin being inconsistent as usual. Official Duck Studios decided to just remove the rest of his old content in the hopes he wouldn't get his channel terminated. He was white. When it comes to the age restrict thing I think I have it figured out. It tends to happen to Cory when he goes trending. So what that means is the first video that someone sees on youtube might be from Cory. So KZbin sees someone who edits out swearing and is pretty family friendly so they check out his content and if they find anything that might make advertisers go away and they panic because they don't want another adpocalypse to happen so they take it down or age restrict it. So yeah I don't think it's racism. I think it's just inconsistency and obviously favoritism.

There are several factors that have combined to create this unfair system. The first is the amount of content uploaded to the platform daily. Unavoidable. Second is the virality of sensational news stories, which spook advertisers. Also, sort of unavoidable. Third is the number of rules the platform has to enforce. This is an avoidable problem. Though some other means of funding must be sourced, so that advertisers can't pull the rug out any time there's a controversy.

It's possible someone at youtube really doesn't like Cory, but it doesn't necessarily mean that person is racist. They definitely could be, it's just hard to prove I guess. So it makes more sense to focus on what is demonstrable, and he did a good job demonstrating favoritism and/or incompetence. At the very least it's an issue that most people agree must be rectified. However I fear that youtube will see all this and come to the wrong conclusions and actually make things worse. For example, if KZbin starts favoring Cory and pushing more black creators and also starts suppressing white and asian creators, then they didn't really learn or fix anything, they just unjustly targeted another group and are being total hypocrites and just virtue signaling. Similarly, if KZbin now decides "ok, you want even enforcement we will give it to you" that could translate into more draconian censorship. Like to make sure they're not perceived as playing favorites they could overshoot and air on the side of censoring and striking things more often, across the platform. They absolutely NEED to tell people what is wrong with a video or comment. They need to literally quote or timestamp the problem, to let you know this specific part, opinion or word is the problem. I think they refuse to do it because doing that would give even more ammunition to the critics who accuse them of political bias, sexism or racism. Providing detailed reasoning of the suspension, ban or strike would effectively prove that their rules don't make sense or are enforced arbitrarily / to only one type of creator, which could potentially open them up to legal actions. It could also basically prove that they are publishers and show that they need to be regulated as such.

As much as I hate to give KZbin credit in this case, I do want to point out: if KZbin has on record what part of the video was the problem, the 5-minute appeal _could_* make sense, as they would skip to the flagged section, watch _it_, and then make a decision. * NOT saying this is a good thing. I would expect that since it's brought up for an appeal, the context around the section would be important, so it _should_ require more time to review based on that alone.

This is blown out of proportions. Massively. Maybe a team member took away the restriction after seeing that it's not treated the same way on another account. Then a senior member or a higher up reviewed it and put the restriction on both videos. Talking about who is the favorite is also kinda dumb. Number of interactions of a community, amount of uploads, content type, regularity of uploads, target audience and a whole lot of other things might play into one creator being pushed above another. Not everything is an issue of "they don't like me for reason xyz". Some of it just might be the creator, some of it might be the audience, some of it might even be on KZbins side. But not everything in life happens because there aren't many people with your shade of skin color on a team of a worldwide mega corporation.

So this happens to thousands of other KZbinrs, for different reasons, no matter who they are. Then it happens to a black dude and he immediately pulls the R word. I don't know how serious he was when he said they're trying to keep the black man down, but in case he was serious, it's exactly this type of thinking that keeps the socioeconomic gap between black and white people as large as it is. In an era where saying something that could be even slightly misconstrued as negative about black people means social suicide, or PR suicide if you're a company, accusations such as these really have no ground to stand on and only reveal a character flaw in the person making them, namely that they're willing to blame someone else for their problems. KZbin and its parent company Google/Alphabet have done a lot of stupid things, but racism probably isn't among them.

Circumstantial evidence in this case would be evidence of censorship happening to him and people of his race more than others. And the reason people are quick to point out when a claim of racism is bullshit is because it's a serious accusation that leads to real world consequences. People have suffered real life consequences over being accused of racism, most often without any actual evidence. And another, perhaps even bigger reason people are pissed off is because the usually designated victim classes of people enjoy a near-unilateral ability to throw that accusation around and have everyone take them seriously when their group is just as capable of being racially prejudicial as anyone else.

He got age restricted, then he reached out to KZbin and mentioned that he suspects racial discrimination, so someone at KZbin removed the age restriction, because when a black person mentions that they're being racially discriminated, people will do whatever they can to appease them. @@ItsKagiVids Wrong wrong wrong sigh. Quantum TV and actman is not in the same vein as Cory. And I'm sorry this sounds wrong but if you're not actually black, you won't get it. Corporations like KZbin, Twitter, Twitch all run like "systems" where they only care about money and looking good. Cory is not the "right type of black person" they want, you see it when KZbin promotes it's "KZbin black voices" nonsense. You want to see what type of black people they like, it's all those on that diversity spotlight. The issue with quantum is different, it's not racism, it's about looking good. Sure quantum may have said somethings about LGBT but act man is white, and trying to get quantum on his "anti LGBT" stuff to KZbin is you asking them to make a decision between a black person and lgbt group. And remember, KZbin wants both these groups, not because they care but because they need them to "look good." So actman is the scapegoat because he's straight and white, why should KZbin have to choose between a black man and lgbt, when there's a white man over there, you see. It's alot deeper than simply racism, and if you're a minority, not a progressive and old enough, you'll know through experience how these companies move. You will all call out racism from KZbin but at the end of the day, they'll give lip service "to look good" then go back to normal business. It is what it is.

So many channels including you just posted a vid just like this on the same day. And now i just found out one of my favorite channels got completely demonitived and they been being screwed over by bots and false claims for a while now and it actually kind of hurt.. AND IM JUST SOME VIEWER. Im so disappointed and angry and im not even a creator so i cant even imagine how creators feel. This is ridiculous. I hope all the videos i seen today including yours spread awareness to FINALLY make youtube get its shit together. Rn, it seems like a self destructng failing platform because of this. Its ridiculous and unfair to creators who do this as their livelihood or even just out of joy. I dont wanna be negative but this is so disappointing and disgusting to see. I reallly hope these channels can get back on their feet soon.

You should do a video on the ad situation because it ties into this because if youtube decides what is needed it does. I usually watch content creators who hate ads, but then I get an ad every 2-5mintues in a 15-20 minute video

I have said it before, but I will say it again. KZbin has become such a terrible site. We really need a KZbin competitor. KZbins AI even lists random videos as "for kids" regardless of when it was uploaded or creator's consent. A Norwegian artist I follow suddenly had one of her music videos (which has been up for years) flagged as "for kids", even though the song has a darker subject and even depicts suicide of a puppy. But because the video is a stop-motion animation with colorful dolls, KZbin goes "oh this must be for children"
