People need to appreciate just how poorly USPSA is managed. Every shooting sports org has its drama. ISSF just had a big leadership shakeup, NRA and CMP are what they are, sure. Every org has its politics. But, the USPSA org provides absolutely no value to shooters as a non-profit. No Olympic quotas. Poorly run Nationals (not to mention attempts to run major hi-cap matches in ban states). A broken classifier system that they keep breaking with new and provisional divisions. It’s a non-profit sporting org, but the rules are molded only around the benefit of sponsors and manufacturers. The folks that make those calls (the Board) have spent a decade spending the balance sheet away, using USPSA as a slush fund for travel and hobbies, protected by an “attorney” unqualified to give legal advice about DE law and the Board’s appointed cronies-a MLM saleslady and a marketing guy addicted to ChatGPT and selling donated guns and ammo. The Board has openly bent and broken org rules and bylaws to benefit their buddies and families. They see no hypocrisy in seating A4 (unqualified to hold office at the time) and removing A3/A7. I left the sport. I think Ben Berry is trying in earnest, but it will take a court order or major sponsor pressure to get real leadership changes. Or, IPSC gets involved. So long as AD elections remain staggered and the “we’re just here to shoot” crowd remains most of the membership, nothing will change.

To the Board, For many years I have taken the position, to never, join any organization, and invest into a lifetime membership. My reason being , if the leadership’s direction, becomes in conflict with my beliefs and values, my dollars have empowered them long term. That being said, you will not receive any more dues from me.

You were right all along. Clearly you know that. I’m just a casual shooter of uspsa…….i don’t practice, I just show up one a month and do what I can. I will follow what my club’s serious members want to do……and if I’m not mistaken all of clubs in my state are not paying anymore. I think only one guy is a little upset cause he is on the verge of getting his GM, but he isn’t happy with the state of things either.

I watch Ben’s videos for the same reason I watch Stephen A. on ESPN. 😂😂😂 He’s as merciless as he is relentless.

Board members should be elected and the national board should have zero authority to remove them absent members voting them out. Did they vote themselves this authority?

Don’t hold your breath on court action, so vote with your pocketbook. ONLY way it gets solved. When the BOD and all their cronies get $0………the problem will be solved.

Is it still worth joining USPSA as someone new to competition? Do you have a recommendation for another organization?

If you don’t care about classification and are only going to shoot Level 1 matches then you have to question the value. But you cannot shoot a level II/III match (if there are any after all this fiasco).
