Incursions is the new free update for Everspace 2. It introduces a range on new content including a new hoard mode. Additionally, this patch moves the game over the Unreal Engine 5.3.

The performance on the ps5 version took a bit of a hit, its not running as smooth as it did before the update, please take a look at it, in hectic situations the framerate drops like a rock where it was smooth as butter before the update

Too bad your game is as shallow as a puddle and still extremely repetitive. Maybe you should have spend less time on graphics, then you wouldn't have to use the same copy-pasted puzzles everywhere and your game would have a actually interesting loot ... you know, as in looter-shooter.

You didn’t mention it, but the legendary limit has been increased! Tier 4 ships can now equip 3 instead of 2, and there’s a new legendary catalyst that can increase that further to 4. This was a much requested feature, and I think they implemented it in a great way.

I just bought the game a few days ago and I'm stunned! Playing on a 32:9 screen and it looks amazing! It's one of a few games which not only support this ratio, but also make the HUD usable and comfortable on the wide screen. I love to fly around and watching the planets fly by and reflections dancing around. It's so beautiful!

Turned it on today. The game looks incredible. The lighting update was soooooo needed in some places. Please add black holes back in. I also miss the giant ships jumping right into the zone my God the jump scares in ES1. Much love. I got really greedy there. Thank you for this wonderful update Rockfish.

If the beacons need to be destroyed to safeguard the universe, shouldn't there be friendly fleets to help you? or are you saving the universe all alone by yourself?

You won't be alone in most Incursions. There are a number of NPC ships also engaged in each fight. Some will be friendly, others not-so-much. :)

I really wish I could get a handle on the control scheme. My brain just doesn't get it. I'm too used to "flight sims in space" like Elite or X4 where most of your motion is forward augmented by turning and strafing, and that doesn't cut it in ES2.

The ps5 version is pretty rocky after the update, it ran really smooth before the update and now there are massive frame drops, plus my ps5 is running a bit hotter than before where i had no issues before the update

Just a thought, I have difficulty using a fly-by-mouse. Normally, I use a Thrustmaster HOTAS 4 Pro. Everspace 2 has support for using this HOTA. However, I'd like to try fly-by-mouse. Could you do a video on setting up a mouse for playing. I have a tendency for the mouse to "overshoot." I understand that practice makes perfect. I use a Logitech G600. My confusion is in DPI and sensitivity .When I first subscribed, you had less than 100k,, your my engineering officer voice for Elite Dangerous. I just like the tone of you voice. If you can do a video great , if not no problem, it is what it is. Thanks for years of enjoyable videos of fantastic ED play.

I also liked the first one, but Everspace 2 is definitely a much better game. 2 is a proper open world space game with a pretty good story, large hand crafted zones to explore, fun combat, trading, and more.

So i just made a bomber with Wrath, Ritual, Final Reckoning and 3 pieces of the Commander Set. Autocannon a single target to charge FR, fire Ritual, get a free drone. Drone pops after 9 seconds and restores all shield thanks to commander set. Repeat until everything is dead =) Ritual is just stupid fun. And tomorrow i'll have a look at my Gun Ship.

It's a very beautiful looking game...and I've really tried to get into it, ever since its first incarnate. It's just so damn arcadey. I much prefer the combat styles of something like House of the Dying Star, Star Citizen Arena Commander/ Star Citizen, and what I've seen of Hunternet and Elite (especially Arena), as they are all very similar and all are tactical. E2 is best described as being a bullet storm of constant 1080s. I feel like I'm just a twirling turret that's always spinning on demand at a rate that would kill the occupant in real life. The average dogfight against multiple enemy is just a loop-to-loop-to-loop-to-loop-to-loop-to loop spin fest. Whereas, in the aforementioned games, it seems like I can drift and yaw to the left/ right and take pot-shots, or follow the enemy into a nice downward scissor-like pattern/ spiraling motion: The enemy banks, then I bank with him. The enemy descends, and I descend with him and stay on his six. Or I can try to get them to expose their underbelly by switching direction. Here, it just feels like Galaga in 3D, to where the objective is not so much to follow your enemy but to keep them in your screen which is completely different than mimicking and following their flight patterns. And the gameplay is so fast you lose sight of your enemy and have to just keep looping around until you resolve them again. It's like how I would describe F.E.A.R, versus Modern Warfare 1. LOL Like, you don't even need propulsion, at least not forward propulsion. You just need pure pitch speed and you can just sit still and keep looping on an axis. I do give it this, however: This game is certainly the modern day spiritual successor for that Descent type of game. It just so happens that I'm not too much into that gameplay style anymore.

Great breakdown. Visually stunning; more descent like than sim-like (not necessarily a bad thing - need to be in the mood for that). Again though, can't deny it looks amazing and is very well optimized.

@@kylel7158 Yes. Certainly a very stylistic and beautiful looking game otherwise. It is kind of fun just to fly around and look at stuff. The best I can manage is in using rails/ gauss class weapons as those lend to some gratification at least. It's the closest you get to feeling like your shots are connecting. And not just subject to the randomness of a bullet spray.

Years of Diablo 2 and all those which followed gave me my fill of 'looter-shooters'. I'll still engage if there's a decent enough story to warrant the chase for upgrading and I liked Everspace2's approach. Making a single player game interesting with this format isn't easy since style over substance is today's mantra.

there was an awful quest halfway through the game. i don't have that much time in my life. it was so unnecessary where you have to lever switch blah blah to move forward in the main q line. it killed the game for me

The german award they won is a joke, it always goes to the biggest publisher and never takes in quality or creativity of the games into account. It is heavily criticised in Germany for a reason. And sadly, Everspace still remains a mile wide, yet deep as a puddle. Repetitive combat, annoying puzzles, a story that peaked at the end of the first chapter and no interesting endgame. This update changes nothing about that, sadly.

Yawn. Until they remove the tedious puzzle solving in every single zone I have zero desire to return to this game. Biggest bait and switch I've ever seen. Advertised as an ARPG but consists of 80% tedious puzzle solving and 20% action.
