I find it interesting that my favorite aircraft in war thunder are the most troubled in real life. The T18B 57 was a nightmare to get working irl, but in air rb it has a bomber spawn and a 57 mm cannon. This aircraft, and specifically its upgraded version the sb2c-4, can match the firepower of the D5 Stuka if they both take mg gunpods, can out turn fighters if it’s going fast enough, and can at the start of the match easily go fast enough thanks to its air spawn. Irl, the prototype helldiver was so flawed that according to the sources I checked it needed 800 changes before it was accepted by the US military.

And even after it was accepted, aviators and mechanics alike still hated it enough that the general consensus was that the Dauntless was still superior.

@@the_tactician9858 It had reliability issues, structural instability, bad handling, and a poor powerplant. The Dauntless, despite being an old design, was easier to fly and more reliable.

There's a strike airplane in tier one soviet tree It can hold 2 500 kilos bombs and 4 25kilos It's pretty overpowered for a 1.3 br PLEASE try it with a swarm it will wreak havok It's called the bb.1

The American tbd-1 at 1.0 can carry 3 500lbs bombs and 6 100lbs, can’t remember if it can carry more since it has 12 hard points for 100lbs but it might max out it carry weight with 3+6

Little tip for anyone wanting to do this, the French SB2C can carry a 2000Lb bomb making it just that much better. That with an additional 2 1000Lb bombs makes it a monster and it’s just amazing 😊

One of my favourite strike aircraft! Very heavy payload and a relatively quick turn rate. The airbrakes make landing super easy and the flaps don't break at any speed. It's just that speed is it's biggest weakness.

People underestimate the SB2Cs in dogfights. The stall turn performance slaps against most unwitting players dumb enough not to extend away from slow speed treetop level turn fights.

fun fact! You can take the 1000lb bomb /and/ gunpods in a custom loadout in this. The four .50 cals reslly mean you can hold your own vs a lot of fighters once your bombs out.

This would be awesome if u did the same thing, maybe with ju-87s, but its on ships. Coz the helddivers were actually developed for air to ship combat so I think that would be awesome. Keep up the good work! :)
