Absolutely terrifying.
@marciacoy77693 ай бұрын
In the decades that storm chasing has been a thing, only 4 chasers have ever been killed directly by the tornados. 3 in 2013 during the largest tornado ever recorded in El Reno, and 1 during this one. Over all they know what they are doing and often what they are doing saves lives. Keep them all in your prayers. This season has been brutal.

A storm chaser got killed during this tornado?
@debbiescott67323 ай бұрын
Very brutal this year in every state they appear. I live in Florida and I'm dreading hurricane season this year. Just a feeling it's going to be bad too. Plus, hurricanes usually spawn tornadoes too.
@korpakukac3 ай бұрын
Well, the prayers did f.all for those 4 that died. Who knows, maybe if you pray harder the tornadoes will gently hop over their cars next time without causing a single scratch. Pray onnnn....

@@marciegalo Not entirely true. These Storm Chasers get paid for their footage from news organizations all over the world - albeit it's not a whole lot. And although they put their lives in danger and enjoy the thrill of seeing storms upclose, they do work with some news groups like The Weather Channel.

My Chihuahua doesn't like to cuddle, but as I watched Ryan Hall Y'All call this tornado, I felt a need to hold my only loved one close and grieve for those I knew were going to be lost. As it progressed across Iowa, Ryan and his teams of storm chasers were warning people to be in their safe places. He was telling them to put on heavy shoes and if they had it, grab a helmet. I told someone today that I cannot help but feel ashamed that as a weather nerd, that which entertains me may come at the cost of everything to someone else. Hopefully, help is on the way, although things will never be put to the right again.

They can get pretty close & do so pretty frequently anymore. Just do a quite search & there is a plethora of tornado footage filmed via drone available for viewing. Reed Timmer's (one of the chaser's talking in this clip) chasing team often collaborates with extremely talented drone pilots. I know one that one of the main pilots that films for them is a competes in drone racing/stunt competitions and is a champion pilot. You should definitely check out some of the footage. It is awesome inspiring, no doubt on another level.

I don't know about these chasers in particular, but many are collecting data on pressure, wind speed, etc. to help better understand tornadoes and provide earlier and more accurate warnings. Many also are close behind it to perform search and rescue and act as first responders! And to inform people where exactly a tornado is on the ground
