There was a photo of a head of a huge giant hammerhead shark about 3 ft wide that was being held by a two people and it was bitten off by two clear bite marks by an even bigger one. The picture was in the old Texas Game and Fish Magazine, that predated today's Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's publication. It was in the library of Texas A&I College in Kingsville, Texas in about 1960.
