Massive Upgrades For The BMC Roadmachine!

Great vid Tom, nice looking bike! Curious if you have any thoughts on getting the ICS upgrade on this model? I'm thinking about getting this exact BMC Roadmachine myself but am not 100% sure if I should pay another thousand to upgrade the cockpit to hide all the cables. Do you think this particular upgrade is worth it? Are there any advantages to not upgrade from a practical perspective in your opinion?

I bought my BMC Roadmachine SLR don't by new shit if you don't need too. The things to sort out is your ride posision and buy the right size of bike I have riden Vätternrundan 315km this year and this morning I got back form riding Mälaren Runt 325km I can tell you from experience a good saddel with good gel will help a lot SLR Gel Flow. Don't go for flashy wheels just leave them your not going fast enough and they will reduce comfort don't get me on to that they will catch the wind we had several crashes yesterday from side winds. Handelbars should be as wide as your sholders blades so you don't strech your arms mine ar 42cm works fine for me. DON'T buy a Endurnce bike and then try to make it AERO becuse it looks cool go for a 100km ride on the bike if everything hurts on you, you have a problem but if it's just your legs then the bike is good.

Me arriesgué poniendo un manillar roval integrado de 42 y con 2 espaciadores y un sillín fizik largo antares R1 , seguiré tu consejo de mantener las ruedas sin perfil . Quedo un poco más agresiva , no pretendo cambiar su espíritu endurance , la talla es 54 y mido un 1.80 mts , hasta este momento me siento muy cómodo .

Fully agree with everything as bikes used to use the same frame for each model but only difference was the wheels and group set etc

I have a BMC Roadmachine 3. Size 51. It came with 42 wide bars. Terrible. I have an Easton carbon handlebar (EC90 SLX3) in 38 and plan to move it over to the BMC asap. Later plan on adding some lightweight climbing type wheels and 30mm Corsa Control or GP5000. My bike weighed 17.8 pounds out of the box (sans pedals and bottle cages). What have you been able to get the weight down to after your mods?

The corsas that came on the bike are so bad, they flatted on the road on my first ride. Could be just my area too though.

Got the better and lighter 01 frame w carbon wheels and full Ultegra for 5.5k, so don’t know where the prices come from? (Best bike I ever had rides just AMAZING)
