Your chickens have to be the most well fed chickens on the planet. Probably makes for some good eggs. Which is pretty crazy.. The pests you remove from people's walls are fed to the chickens. So,. Not only do you make money for the removal. But you recycle the protein, eating those eggs for breakfast and giving you energy to remove another nest.

So true. When I was 8 years old, I climbed on an old step ladder to look for some fort material from a garbage container near my house. Within 10 seconds, I started feeling sharp, burning stings to my calves and thighs. I looked down and there was a large Hornets nest on the other end of the steps. I counted around a dozen of them on my bare legs [wearing shorts] just stinging away . I jumped off and started running at top speed. My younger brother saw it happen and stated later that it looked like a cartoon, as about 2 dozen were in formation about 10 feet behind. Thank God I was very fast as a child. An old Custodian nearby just laughed and said, "Those Yellow Jackets are the meanest little bastards when when you rattle their nest". So, to make a long story a bit shorter: the stings were like a hot pinhead, but the healing was some the worst painful itching that I every experienced. Took a few days to heal up.

Mr & Mrs Hornet King- As usually- such a wonderful video! I consider myself a HK fan, And i have noticed that your "customer relations" dealing with home owners is very remarkable. It appears a trait lost on most people. But, you show us all that respect and consideration is still alive and well. Very gad to see this. On to my question- What are the typical triggers or straws - that cause the home owner to request your help? For the nest to be this large? i guess, what i am saying is- for me- the first sign of a hornet- wasps- bee- stinger- and I am taking immediate action- but it appears a lot of your home owners allow ( ? ) the nest to grow? why are you finding this to be? Are the nests that well hidden? are you seeing that most home owners tend to ignore them until its too much? .. or is it like all things in life: "situational dependent? Again- wonderful video, always great to sit around the TV and as a family and watch your work. Cheers and have a wonderful weekend- until next time-- Maine-The way Life should be. This colony hadn't had released queens yet. So any few queens within this nest would have been vacuumed up. For the sake of argument, if I am removing a reproductive nest with new males and queens within a nest, they haven't mated. So even if they leave the nest prematurely due to me disturbing the colony, they wouldn't be fertilized and would not be able to start a colony the following spring. As for these couple accusatory statements here, removing nests does not increase the odds of a neighbor getting a nest, and therefor my removing a colony has zero bearing on my future business.
@codymcelroy5418
@codymcelroy5418 2 жыл бұрын
@@HornetKingOfficial That and it doesn't really track with how anything colonial would respond. You don't tend to stick around in the area where your home was destroyed if you can make a new nest. You would GTFO far away before even trying to make a new nest.

When I was younger and traveling overseas I told my grandparents I kept hearing noises at night. They didn't believe me for days until I insisted they check the back right corner of a closet (where the noise was coming from). My grandfather opened it up, removed some boxes, and shines a light inside- out flies one worker bee, then two... we escape the room and stuff any holes with rags to make sure they don't leave the area. That night my grandfather put a can of raid in the bedroom and heroically stepped inside covered in rags; he began removing the (bees? wasps?) while on the other side my grandmother and I got rid of any that were crawling through doorway. Eventually it is light again and the raid bomb seems to have done its job. We clean up any stragglers and I spend the morning using my nimble fingers to pull out the stingers from my grandfathers hands and arms. This was 15 years ago and I still remember falling asleep to the sound of chewing... chewing... chewing. We never figured out how they got inside, but this was rural Russia in the early 2000's where we didn't have a way to keep bugs solely outside of the cabin.

Nice job. Thank you for doing this. I would hate knowing that some people could be seriously affected by these. I love your chickens.

Love these videos! Please keep them coming. Thanks to you and your channel, I successfully removed 2 nests this year from my house. First, yellow jackets in a soffit and then a bald face hornet nest in a bush. Both were taken out with my shop vac and a cheap bee suit. No stings! Can you include some video of where they get into walls? Thanks

Why would anyone want to see the inside of the vacuum????? Nice to see the Hornet Queen helping out, I'm sure she is essential. Love watching chickens eat the bounty of your work, they enjoy it so much and it shows cuz they look so healthy from all that protein!!! Another great video and loved seeing Ginger laying her egg, lol! Thanks for sharing!
