Recently Will Prowse did a teardown and found this battery is made up of 280ah worth of components and labeled 300ah. Watt Cycle has stood behind their product and offered refunds to customers who purchased this battery. If you got one, be sure to reach out for your refund! I think its "the right thing to do". Watt Cycle has removed this product from their shelves and will be fixing the things that Will found during his review. Bravo!

TO.. if radios want 13.8, how do 12v batteries work?
@temporarilyoffline2 ай бұрын
Radios want 13.8 to deliver the specified wattage, less volts = less watts out to the antenna. Up to a low point where the radio just doesn't work anymore. Most 12v batteries put out a range from 10-14v as you use them.

Can you please measure the top of the battery minus the handles to give a true dimension of the battery case.
@temporarilyofflineАй бұрын
I totally get why you want those numbers, but having the battery in hand, I can tell you that removing the handles doesn't gain you any space savings. The handles when stored do not stand proud of the top of the case, they sit below the terminals. If you remove the handles, the side-side dimensions also don't change since the handle mounts are moulded into the case. All that to say this: 15.12 x 7.64 x 10.04 inches | 57.32lbs

Surprisingly massive capacity. I had to look up how many AH a regular lead acid car battery has, since normally they only advertise CCA - cold cranking amps. Wow. Only average 38 AH in a car battery roughly the same physical size!

That a lot of watt hours. Will run that 12V refrigerator a long time. Great boondocking battery ! Can be a fun POTA week on them and i talking KW POTA ! Some changes coming to the RV industry in like 2028 . Also effects campers. Them 1 LB throw away tanks will no longer be sold. Have to get refillable ones. They been on the market years now and works out cheaper . The refillable propane 1 IL ones have that safety valve as well. Many may ditech propane and go electric . that 300AH good start ! They do make a adapter hose to run like Coleman stove on big 20LB grill tank. That what we do . but 10 LB one. They have 5/10/15/20 /30/40/50 LB ones and bigger . I worry about shortage on propane. This happened in NY one winter. left so many in the cold. A small mini split heat pump can be used in RV for heat . The only problem is under 0 F heat pumps can quit . some quit below 32 F . Love big AH battery ! The LiFePO4 changed . Changes in electrolyte and plate making them better ! The cycle life is going up as well ! 73

@temporarilyoffline2 ай бұрын

@RodneyTronic2 ай бұрын
A 3000 W inverter will want more than 200 Amps supply. I think I saw that this one is max 200 Amps supply. I'm looking at 3 x 100 Ah batteries in parallel to get 300 Amps supply which also allows for losses in the inverter ie you might need 3300 Watts input with 10% loss to get 3000 Watts output.

@temporarilyofflineАй бұрын
@@GregNTech That's the rub - I'm not a chemist, but what I can say through my observations - this is the most densely packed battery to date. Battery tech changes all the time. I'll likely never run this below 10v myself. YMMV and all that jazz. I've seen another battery mfg market a battery that has this same cutoff and high density vs. package size, so its either A) a complete lie or B) some new to market tech. Time will tell and I don't know of anybody that can do 5000 cycles "at home" - at a 10a drain, that would take over 20 years to complete.
