Supressing light may have effect. But you forget Strand and Stasis, you cant supress that. So no, no "easily take out The Guardian" here. You as a player are limited by game mechanics to one power at a time, but I dont think lore wise you are. Remember Savathun used all 3 at same time during battle? This isn’t to even mention that despite what in game would suggest, guardians are *very* physically powerful. In the lore, Wei Ning was able to shake an entire mountain with a punch, but was inferior in strength to Shaxx, who was in turn beaten by ikora in the crucible, who herself has stated us to be more powerful than herself. It really depends on the strength of a guardians light. Using crow getting killed by Amanda isn’t really a good example of this since he is a very young guardian and is not very powerful.

The idea is that people think she's way stronger than she really is, because she doesn't measure her strength publicly, so they are only left to wander, to build up her image.

We have only been a guardian for 10 years, while Ikora has been one for a millenia, give or take a few centuries. We are no different in a scale of time than Crow. Look, as much as I like both series, Destiny just generally has way crazier scaling As insane as the Forerunners creating pocket dimensions, galaxy wiping weapons, etc is The Vex control the entirety of the space-time continuum at a whim and can create and destroy universes with the blink of an eye, and the Guardian throws down with not just their 'gods', but the gods that kill those gods, like Oryx.

In the Zavala trailer, it shows just how strong a guardian is. I can't remember the exact figures but a guardian actually has physical strength equal to or greater then the Master Chief. Also, keep in mind just how much punishment our armours take throughout the game and the reference to materials that have greater strength but are lighter then the materials we use nowadays. The Halo armours are often referred to as being advanced alloys. Consider the damage they take, even against paracausal weapons, I believe our armour is on par at least with Master Chief. I believe the battle is more lopsided then you made it out to be.

The light also enhances the strength, mobility and endury of the guardian and also make armor you wear extremely tough, i think it is possible for simple plating that is infused with light to withstand hits from ship based weaponary

I think the first 1/4 of our health bar is half our actual health and the rest are shields, which we might use our Light to generate. Not sure how much armor plays into it.

From what ive heard, guardian armor isn't as advanced as a Spartan armor, we build our armor using whatever loot we can find. There was more emphasis on that idea in Destiny 1 and the main reason why we had strike specific loot. We do know about some powerful armor though like Sloane's Golden Age armor, she was able to survive the Hive's onslaught on Titan when it got taken by The Witness.

I would say the guardian equivalent to Master Chief lore wise in Destiny would be Saint-14, but that's just my opinion. Master Chief isn't the best of the best in any category, from the lore I've seen and read, the dude has a lot of luck. It's why he's described as lucky by certain characters (like Cortana). Their are plenty of variables when it comes to comparing Spartans and Space marines but on average they both can achieve similar success against one another. As for the weakest guardian vs strongest space marine we are still looking at a Paracausal immortal being which Paracausal powers vs a super soldier that perhaps has psychic warp powers. Even if in this scenario the space marine “killed” a “weak” guardian they don’t have any means of keeping a guardian down. Grey knights are perhaps the best ones suited to take on guardians and even then struggle immensely. But they’d still would get smoked by the top tier guardians that are fighting gods on a regular basis. I understand named Space Marines are written like fan self inserts that can pull crazy dung out their behinds but when we’re looking at the average space marine their not pulling anywhere near the same stunts and feats as an average guardian.

Guardian has light infused armor that can resist weapons that tear apart matter at the atomic level. Spartan armor can be melted through by mere plasma weapons, a comically low tech form of energy weapon in scifi. Due to the popularity of near future scifi and low tech futures like warhammer, a lot of people think plasma is high tech. Its not.

Guardian armor have different armor. Some armor sets are stated to be so heavy and durable that it crushes the cement beneath them. They could also pop their super one after another. The whole 9 minute cool down thing is just a gameplay mechanic and some guardians also possess incredible strength like the guardian who punched a mountain and split it

It' canonical that Elites and Brutes can over power and even incapacitate a Spartan 2 with a single blow in the latters case. A Guardian can facetank a punch from several varieties of god, some resurrect themselves with their own light, and canonically others dodge lightning for one of their sub classes. With current ability spam and what we can do it's insane how powerful we kinda just skyrocketed towards. If we were back in subclass 2.0 I think chief would kill the guardian regardless of class 7/10 times. With 3.0 changes Guardian on any class can be annoying to deal with in a 1v1 between to highly skilled war spear points but the raw damage is hard to deny. Honestly it's not if the chief can kill the guardian it's really can he survive the encounter. I do believe cheif has better shields and armor compared to a guardian but guardians can be resurrected. Id say both are even in weapons skills being able to pick up and use damn near everything on the battlefield. I think the biggest factor is Supers vs Spartan/Armor abilities and equipment. Even if cheif had access to everything from H3, Reach, H4, H5, and Infinite he'd still have trouble against five different super types and their abilities. Not to say he wouldn't be able to hard counter or stop what a guardian can throw at him it's just the guardian has more options to use in this encounter. Also what kind of guardian is the chief facing hunter, warlock, or Titan each with their own unique abilities and skills with thei own strengths and weaknesses It's tough but I'd say the guardian takes this in my opinion.

Guardian no question Guardians routinely clap the cheeks of gods with far more power than anything in the halo universe. They're also unkillable. You have to know how to kill a ghost and only a very particular item can and Halo doesn't have it or even know what it is.

The Guardian wins and they don't even need a gun. Basically any offensive super beats Chief no diff. People seem to forget Nova Bomb is described as having the force equivalent to a collapsing star.

Guardians live for hundreds of years. Armor and weapons aside, a guardian would have vastly more combat experience than chief, better muscle memory, better strategy. Chief is just a soldier that was very lucky. Guardians are immortals who can bend reality with their fucking will and do whatever the fuck they want.

I love halo I love chief, however lore wise guardians can move up to speeds faster that light because we can dodge a sleeper sim shot. We also give vex a run for their money, vex can literally wipe people from a timeline but not us.

Titans are stronger than Spartan II though? I mean we’ve seen a Titan shake a mountain with a punch and their armor literally weighs tonnes and would kill a normal person trying to wear their armor. Also unlike Spartans in terms of combative skill that’s a little more hit or miss as some guardians have fought for 100s of years whereas others were only ressurected recently. Also remember Master Chief is an outlier even among Spartans for being skilled so if he went up against someone like Saint 14 who’s basically his counterpart I don’t think he beats him in a single category. Also remember that master chief is lucky. While guardians like Crow were killed with a guardian shotgun, Spartans have been also one shot such as in Reach with Cat being killed by a needler to the head, and she was wearing armor unlike Crow who wear light Hunter armor which is built for agility and stealth rather than protection. In terms of comparison it makes more sense to compare to a Titan which was the classes inspiration to begin with. Lastly we saw what happened to Chief when he went against someone like the Didact who can replicate some paracausal like abilities through technology, he couldn’t do anything. Meanwhile our guardian has killed literally gods solo in campaign missions. It’s no contest here

I mean a fair comparison could be essentially cayde vs master chief its realistic expectations not this fantasy we are never losing type story we’re living, I’m a fan of destiny but we’re literally the main character to a manga story who constantly overcomes and you get the point, we are the Superman to dc that never loses
