Hello Rob, I did not know this tool existed. Question: In addition to adding the images to the composite, I need to put the student's last name and first initial under their photo. Is there a simple wat to do this, perhaps by creating a text box, duplicating and filling (or auto filling) it? I have 191 students on a 24"x36" composite.

Hi Gil! I wish there was an easy way, but I'm afraid there isn't. Perhaps you could find someone on Fiverr to create a photoshop script? Just an idea. Best of luck!

Hi! How do you have all of your images on the right to drag into the composite? I can’t figure out how to do that, I only see how to open photos one at a time.

Hello, it's been a year since I've used your video here I do School Pictures and I'm creating class pictures. This was very helpful last year and I'm assuming it's going to be even more helpful this year. Right now I'm trying to click shift and move Frame's together or apart and when I do that I don't have any of the tools that you have at the top of Photoshop. I'm using Photoshop 2024 and I don't have those tools. How do I get them back Thank you. Mark

Hi Rob, thank you for the great tutorial. I am able to get to 1:20 where I select the move tool and V but it doesn't duplicate anything, it only drags what I selected to the other side. I'm new to Photoshop, what am I missing with the hold down option? Thank you!
@RobSigler

Hi Amanda...you need to hold down the option key on your keyboard before you click and drag. Hold it down the entire time. I hope that helps! Rob :)

HI, what if I want to add the students name under each image? Would I just add a text box under the first and then duplicate as you have done for the first box?

@@RobSigler I just treated them the same as a frame and it worked great. One thing I had to do is right click and select Free Transform to get the images resized and positioned correctly in the frame. Either way I got it to work in the end. Thanks Rob.

Hi Mark...not quite sure what you're asking...but, to put layers into a folder, or group, shift click each layer, then hit command/ctrl G. This will put the layers into a folder. Let me know if this isn't what you're asking. Happy to help! Rob

@@RobSigler Hi Rob, First off let me say thank you for this wonderful video on how to make class compositions. I've been searching for something like this for three or four years. I knew about the frame tool but I never had much use for it I just didn't understand it. But this helps tremendously. Secondly thank you for getting back to me. I know I've written several responses to other videos with questions and for some reason I never get an answer from other people so it's very encouraging to see that you do answer peoples questions. By the way I did save you as a subscription and hit the little bill also. I think my question was because I've been working with your video I watched it a dozen times at least trying to figure things out I can't figure out how to select all of my frames at one time so I can hit command/control G and make them a group. The selecting an image compared to selecting the frame is a little sketchy for me but I'm playing with that and trying to figure this out. But just the fact that I can eventually get these into a group and put a drop shadow and a line around each of them all at one time is phenomenal. That saves me a ton of time. One more question :-) I need to save the file with all the different layers in it so I can open it again next week or next year with those layers showing and I can't figure that out every time I close it is a PSD it compresses everything and I basically have to start over. If you know how to do that that would be wonderful also. Thank you I do appreciate you getting back to me, Mark

@RobSigler

Working on that. There is no easy way to do it. You can name your files as the kid's names, then copy and paste from the layer name into the text field...but no easy process as far as I can tell, but I"m still working on it. I'll keep you posted. :)

This is a great video I want to thank you very much for it. However I am having one problem, and that is resizing the photos once they are in the frame tool. When I click on the photo once it selects the photo, there is a blue frame around it, however there are no handles and I cannot resize the photo. What am I doing wrong
