One can imagine that this 1000 rated opponent, for a brief moment, let himself believe that maybe he caught Danya with a trapped rook... suddenly filled with confidence and adrenaline, only to be devoured moments later 😢

Watching you explain games is a treat and I hope you continue doing it on this channel. Maybe you can set up a series playing against subs; that way you can curate the rating level and even tell them to play a certain opening that you want to explain.

Hey Daniel, would you be able to show how you learn a new opening? Im a 2000 fide player otb but my opening knowledge is pretty basic because I play only like 2 or 3 openings for each colour and I wanna give myself a bigger range of openings that I could play decently. I really like those Speedruns because I get a basic knowledge of a lot of openings but thats ofcourse not enough to outplay someone out of the opening otb. There are a lot of video series for openings like on chessable but It feels that you just learn the moves but without understanding the move or the ideas of the opening. You are always doing a great job of explaining things so I would like to see some opening lessons from you!

7:50 Funnily, you'd see often White sacrificing the Rook on A1 in the Evan's Gambit, which is a line in the Italian that revolves much around the Queen-Bishop battery on B3 and C4, and trying not to let Black castle. Talk about patterns...

I would love another speed run, but you pick a few solid openings (both white and black) and attempt to only use them. In this sense, breaking the speed run into 3 “tiers of elo” seems ok. For beginner to intermediate range as black, perhaps the danish, caro kann and e5. For intermediate to advanced, accelerated dragon, modern, etc…Same deal with white. It would allow us to apply and hone in on particular tactical ideas certain lines bring due to the fact we get to see a small sample size over and over. Congrats on your big win vs Caruana. Keep up the great content Danya!

@conradnal89342 жыл бұрын
4:30 Danya, wasn't Nb4 0-0 Nc2 Rb1 (moves that attack the bishop fail to Na1) Nb4 making a draw for him? I mean I guess Nb4 Bb3 Nd3 Kf1 with the idea a3-Bc2 might actually be dangerous for Black but still you have lost the castling right
@conradnal89342 жыл бұрын
Also, if your intention was to go Bb3 after Nb4 you could have played Nc3 before Ne2 as still Nb4 Bb3 Nd3 Kf1 will likely transpose
@friedquiver46062 жыл бұрын
I just checked with an engine. Similar to what happened in the game, if he plays Nc2 in that sequence, you play Ng3 and if he takes you get a massive attack.
@conradnal89342 жыл бұрын
@@friedquiver4606 I'd guess something like Nb4 0-0 Nc2 Ng3 Na1 Nf5 ef e6 with pretty clear compensation (Qh5, Nd5 might be ideas) but you have to give up at least an exchange

You need to put out fresh content that isn't the speed run. The people here think all they want is the speed run, but they really want fresh content, they just dont know it. If you keep doing the speed run your views will stagnate until no one is interested anymore. If anything you can come back to the speed run after doing some other kind of content. That way the speed run is special and people are excited when it comes around.
