Every day I wake up, go to work, come home, do my household chores and repeat. Sometimes I think, is this all there is? Then I watch these speed runs and realize, no, there are also Danya’s speed runs.

Hi, i’am new to this channel and i wanna do some question. how much would you recommend to see these speedrun? How much your chess skill have improved? Thanks
@piouswhale3 жыл бұрын
@@springardacida2561 Watch his blitz speed runs first, from 0-2400 rating. You can find a playlist on his channel. You can also skip ahead to your preferred rating range, but there is something in every video for someone. If youre new to chess entirely there are several videos about opening principles to watch. Having an instructor is a huge advantage. There are several IMs or even GMs you can get taught by. FMs and NMs are also good coaches, who wont charge as much as IM or GM. Good luck!

@@springardacida2561 Watching people talk will not improve your chess man. 90% of your improvement will happen when you become more disciplined at the board and start playing slow methodical chess. That being said, there are a lot of stuff that chess streamers highlight, that can help you. Eg Rooks belong on open files Creating the battery which Danya talks about here These are useful concepts which can help you All that seeps in and you'll find yourself trying this out in actual games. However there's only so much progress to be made by learning theory, you can also improve calculations by playing 'whatever' chess but thinking through all lines at each move

@@springardacida2561 they don’t improve my chess at all. It’s all for entertainment personally. If you’re serious about improving, read books. A good one is “modern chess openings.” Also do your puzzles on chess.com. The only way to get better is by learning dense theory and a lot of tactics and no speed run can do that for you.

@@springardacida2561 I will offer a counter perspective. Watching Daniel's speedruns have helped me immensely. I've thought about this a lot and I'm still unable to properly quantify just how much, but what I can say for certain is that I've learned much about the essence of the game itself. That is, how to react to certain things (not specific moves, but the thought process) along with the rudiments of chess strategy. You can use these videos as a basis and catalyst for your own thinking. Daniel is a wonderful instructor and even in this one-way medium he still manages to involve the viewer consistently and effectively. I highly encourage you to try answer his questions and embark on your own self study if something you don't understand something not covered during the video. The other thing is while I quite literally immediately fell in love with chess, watching these videos has fanned that flame more than I could have imagined. Daniel is a considerate, incredibly knowledgeable, and eloquent instructor who is also genuinely hilarious. We are truly lucky to have all this on-demand and for free. All that being said, you will of course need to actually play chess (whether games, puzzles, or other self-study) to implement the knowledge gained while watching, but this is the same for literally anything. The beauty of Daniel's instruction is that it is so inspiring, you'll find yourself itching to try things out for yourself. Most of all, have fun!

After Bc2 I was looking at Qd7 with the idea to Qxh3, gxh3, Nf3+ (of course dependant on white's move after Qd7). Then I saw that you'd lose a piece, but potentially you might get three pawns for it (h, g and b pawn - tho I assume white would be able to protect at least one of those).

So the idea is if you are struggling with a middle game move, see if you can find a way to "unwind" your pieces. They are all tangled up in the middle and you want to pull that all apart. If you can find a move to add to that sequence, then that is the "little improving move" that always seems to come easier to higher rated players.

you know what may actually help people realize when to play moves that arent normally played... i know its obvious but halfway through a game people forget what the name of the opening is that was played and start asking well how tf am i gping to remember when to break a rule and when not to? well... remember the opening name. some require all tips to be done and some require a few to be broken. and in this case in smith morra, dont go e5, do g6 and fienchetto Bg7 unless theres an attack being made, then e7. and i gotta remember, ok smith morra is fienchetto. i wonder if making an excel chart for fienchettos and center pawn taking outwards, and double pawns on f and c files and the names of the openings that were played(and first 3-5 moves of game) would be cool to have for studying. but i realize youre around like 1800 on your stream now but itd still be cool to make one even now and post it or sell it. i might even run throgh all your vids and make one myself

he was cheating... you can always tell if they cheat during end games. he takes seconds to make obvious pawn takes with his bishop. at 1400 1500 he should already know hes in time trouble and move WAY faster plus you get behind pawns to grab them. he took extra time during the game on moves to make it seem like he was thinking. idc if people dont agree but to me i see too many red flags, as a chess cheater myself. i never get caught but i know the idea of not making top moves and the biggest issue cheaters have is at the end of games still using the computer instead of abandoning it and play yourself due to time dan was low on time because he sat there explaining to chat and asking chat where they would go and teaching them squillz was low on time because.... mimicking dan... none of this guys moves were made as a human with a plan. if you have a plan you continue to roll out the plan. take a second or two to evaluate surrounding and, ok nothing stopping my plan and move. 10 seconds not 20 or more.
