Ms. Eder, I loved you @ Chicago's Park West in the early 90s. You're evolving in the tradition of fine wine! Please keep up the Magic!!!

'Singing isn't easy'. 'Not everyone can be a great singer but everyone can be a better singer'. Words spoken by a great singer who makes singing 'look' easy! Thanks so much Linda for posting this in-depth look at your recent Master Class... brilliant, fascinating & infused with your wonderful sense of humor! Do hope you're feeling better. Take good care! 💖 P.S. Your observation about Karen Carpenter's voice really resonated with me. Still waiting.😁

Great to see you in action....you never judge....never talk down to people like so many do.....biggest reason I never had Bat Mitzvah.....Cantor would judge me.....talk down to me......compare me to others who picked it up easier than me....I refused to go back for lessons......but at 14 yrs old....my bro taught me guitar......became a singer songwriter until my late 30s......61 now.....medical issues got in the way.....the moral of the story.....as a 12 yr old....I believed the Cantor.....how wrong he was......I do miss it but my dream came true and had some awesome experiences from ages 14 to around 38 yrs old...including doing music therapy as a drug/alcohol counselor......and with people who were mentally ill.....music still soothes the beast within...... You are the best Linda Eder.......come back to Youngstown Ohio......will never forget your kindness when you played in Warren Ohio....A Mensch you are as Ma would say

I have seen you do this, and you are a natural teacher, just as you are a natural singer - I was very impressed!! Singing IS hard….but anyone watching or listening to you would think it’s the easiest thing in the world!!! 🎶🎤💖💖💖💖

You might have been self taught, but you have developed critical self awareness. The ability to pass that on makes you an outstanding teacher. It would be an honor to train with you.

This is fascinating to me. People really did sound different after you coached them. I am someone who can't even sing Happy Birthday. I was intrigued when you said for people to find their natural voice. I spend my life trying to hide mine and sound like somebody else! I heard someone say that anyone can learn to sing - that the voice is a muscle and can be trained like our other muscles. But I'm not sure that's true. I think that there are singers and there are listeners and I'm a listener.

I love what Rosa Ponselle said about deep breathing - if I’m mistaken I would appreciate correction, but I think that she said something akin to “Breathe deep down to the pelvis”. I agree with you that the key is to convey the music and lyrics and intent to the audience and hopefully move the audience. Lon Chaney Sr said once “It doesn’t matter if you are torn apart inside or not but if you are not moving the audience, you are not playing the part well.”

The older Italian guy had some good moments. I think the hardest song to sing is Promises Promises. The orchestra needs to help with that one.
