Mario versus Master Hand makes sense enough, but Guts Man?? AIR MAN?
This is the rom hack called Super Boss Collection, made by Green Jerry! It's just as it's advertised. Super Mario World gameplay but every boss is completely new and unique, with several from other games, Mario or Not! There are some AMAZINGLY cool boss fights created in here, and just shows how cool some inventive players can be!

The Master Hand fight is very fun, very well done fight. And congrats on beating StarMan, he is really annoying to deal with. Don't feel bad about the MMX fight, it is really unbalanced. As a positive note, it's in my opinion the hardest fight of the hack, so everything else should be more doable.

The problem is that none of his attacks function as they're supposed to. So not only does Mario have far less maneuverability than X, but you also have to deal with Bit's attacks staying on screen way longer than they were originally intended, while also being unable to manipulate where he dashes. Even if the game gave you all of X's abilities like dashing and wall jumping, fighting Bit in this form would still probably be significantly harder than he normally is in X3. Whereas all of the other bosses in this hack seem like their original difficulty was toned down to make them more fair given Mario's skill set compared to what the hero of their respective games had for dealing with them.

As for other Romhacks to play, you did play the Super Metroid + A Link to the Past Randomizer before. But there is also a Metroid 1 + Zelda 1 Randomizer called Z1M1. That might be worth checking out.

Those stars Star Man uses, I know them stars anywhere! Super Mario Land 2, space area. Stage hazards you have to navigate around. One of the few times you ever see an angry star in a Mario game! 💫 🌟 💫

This is a really cool concept for a hack, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired - between regular Mario enemies being passed off as bosses to arbitrarily increase the numbers, far too many Mario bosses in general, and fights like Star Man, Bit and Acro just feeling unpolished. Credit is due for the LttP Ganon fight, though; that was the best one of the lot so far.

well it IS a Mario game...so it stands to reason that a lot of the bosses would be callbacks to other Mario games.....add more and different bosses from other games sure..but complaining about Mario bosses in a Mario game seems kinda....well dumb is the word I'd use here

That starman fight just sucks, the platform is annoyingly too high in the center of the stage so its very hard for mario to get onto without running jump and capitalize on the ludicrously short window of time after he shoots his star barrier before it comes back. Not to mention it seems totally random when he shoots his barrier and can go for crazy long times without shooting it which is the only way you can even use player agency to damage the boss. So your stuck waiting for ages until the boss graces you with the ability to fight back and play the game. Just a poorly designed boss all around.
