This took long from the short to here. Won‘t call it Death Metal at all, more of Deathcore. Death Metal is less interruptive with licks but instead simple repetitive riffing. You kept the original a lot, and i really dig the modern mixing, reminds of Shadows of Intent, Lorna Shore etc

I find that a lot of people forget that death metal is actually really close to thrash metal. People have already said this here but this really does sound more like core. Maybe that’s because it’s a modern death metal type of sound which has cross contamination but an OSDM act would probably have made this a lot less busy with different harmonies and more atmosphere. Overall it’s good, just not what I was expecting.
