P said I wanted to personally see who my cousin wanted to give tickets to, and he sat down with us and talked to us for a while. He was the nicest man. @@dontdie777 ### 🛑 **Why You Should NEVER Do Business When You're Desperate** 🛑 Doing business while in a state of desperation can lead to **poor decision-making** and **long-term negative consequences**. Here’s why, with clear logical reasoning: --- ### 1. **Compromised Decision-Making** 🤔💡 - **Logic**: When you're desperate, your brain focuses on **immediate survival**, rather than strategic thinking. This urgency clouds your judgment and makes it harder to see long-term consequences. - **Example**: In business, this may mean accepting unfavorable terms just to get short-term relief. A desperate entrepreneur might agree to a deal that results in low profit margins or gives away too much control, simply because they need immediate cash flow. --- ### 2. **Weak Negotiating Power** 🤝📉 - **Logic**: Desperation signals **weakness** to the other party. When someone knows you are in a vulnerable position, they are more likely to push for terms that favor them, not you. - **Example**: A business partner, investor, or client might take advantage of your situation by offering lower pay, higher interest rates, or demanding more control because they know you’re not in a position to refuse. --- ### 3. **Short-Term Solutions, Long-Term Problems** 🕒⛓ - **Logic**: In a desperate state, people often prioritize **immediate solutions** over sustainable, long-term growth. While it may solve your problem today, it could create bigger issues down the road. - **Example**: Taking a high-interest loan to cover short-term expenses might give you a temporary cash injection, but it can trap you in a cycle of debt and financial strain, hindering your business's ability to grow. --- ### 4. **Increased Emotional Influence** 😟💣 - **Logic**: Desperation makes you more likely to let **emotions override logic**. This can lead to impulsive decisions, where you act based on fear, anxiety, or pressure, rather than a well-thought-out plan. - **Example**: You may sign a contract without thoroughly reviewing the terms or agree to partnerships without understanding the risks, simply because you're anxious to "fix" the problem. --- ### 5. **Damaged Reputation** 📉💬 - **Logic**: Making hasty or irrational decisions in desperation can **damage your credibility** and reputation. Future clients, investors, or partners may see you as unreliable or prone to making poor decisions under pressure. - **Example**: If you accept unfavorable deals or back out of commitments due to poor planning, others may be reluctant to do business with you again, even when you're in a stronger position. --- ### 6. **Lack of Focus on Long-Term Vision** 🔭🚫 - **Logic**: Desperation shifts your focus from the **bigger picture** to immediate concerns. You may lose sight of your business goals, sacrificing the future potential of your company for temporary relief. - **Example**: A desperate entrepreneur might abandon a well-structured business plan or long-term vision just to get quick cash, which derails their path to sustainable success. --- ### 7. **Dependency on External Solutions** 🛠💼 - **Logic**: When you’re desperate, you’re more likely to become **dependent on external help**, which can lead to giving up control of your business. - **Example**: If you take on investors or partners out of desperation, they may end up with more say in your company than you intended, reducing your autonomy. --- ### 🔑 **Conclusion**: Doing business from a position of desperation often leads to **short-term gains but long-term losses**. Strategic, well-considered decisions come from a place of calm, where you can evaluate options and negotiate with confidence. Desperation narrows your perspective, compromises your negotiating power, and can cause irreversible damage to your business and reputation. In essence, **waiting for a better opportunity**, or **preparing for difficult situations in advance**, is always a more effective approach than rushing into a bad deal out of fear or pressure.

This is why they wanted to digitize the music so they can have a hand on the consumer as well as the artist. People threw out all of their cds to pay for a monthly SUBSCRIPTION just in case they want to hear their music. The artist can’t sell hard copies of their music like P because that’s no longer how the public consumes music. All of this was pushed in the name of “convenience” and now it’s irreversible…now that’s a CHESS move. Same thing with Microsoft “One Drive” looks helpful but see how quickly it turns into ransomware if you don’t pay that subscription fee. Get a flash drive. Keep your dvds and cds and player devices.

It's not. It's oversaturated with many artists that all want to sound the same. There aren't really any meaningful songs coming out that are actually SAYING something. There aren't many songs that don't feel like they aren't done because "this person did this" or "that person sounds like that". Mainstream hip-hop is dead to me and the algorithms and streaming services have dirty hands in that aspect. I come from a family of musicians and my grandfather was a rock star back when blacks did rock n' roll. I did my run in producing and released two solo albums myself and even had a chance to tour Australia with the son of Eazy-E in 2017. For some reason, I saw this coming back then and hung it up, removed most of my stuff from the internet, and went back to school for my bachelors in 3D so I can go make $3k a week and settle down somewhere. Music will always be a part of me but those pre-algorithm/streaming days were where the money was. It's a real "rat race" if someone expects to settle down and raise a family if you expect them to be comfortable with nothing else to fall back on.

Corporations are beholden to shareholders, private companies are behold to their ownership structure - and while everyone desires to make a buck - you have to differentiate between those who understand that a mutual partnership is beneficial to everyone vs those who take a one side approach to making money at the expense of everyone else. There are many examples of businesses who understood that once but changed when the thought of growing shareholder value and EBITDA was more important than cultivating relationships with clients and customers. It's a painful lesson not learned when you are starting out but time and wisdom teaches all. Know your value and learn how to make the playing field as level as you possibly can. It's harder and easier now to be an independent artist, easier because the internet gives you access to people who can discover you, but harder because way less people actually pay for music now, so instead of being an independent label selling a million CD's for 10 dollars a piece, you now basically have to rely on third parties to stream/broadcast your music and give you a cut of the revenue which isn't much usually. Even fairly big artists only manage to sell maybe 50-100k CD's and that's a lot in the modern era, if they had the same level of fame but it was 1990s instead of the 2010s-2020's then they would be making way more especially if they got a good deal or went independent

@@charrua59 that serves my point tho. I know 1000% that artists would never abondon the potential to make millions with major labels but the opportunity is there for Direct to Consumer. If not, artist should have a union that negotiates streaming value. 43 million streams only equating to 2700 dollars is ridiculous.

Master P lost his label to Bankruptcy and Lawsuits. He no longer owns No Limit because he didn’t pay his in house producers. The in-house producers now own the No Limit Catalog. I actually think he was Blackballed from the Music Industry.

The fact that I'm on a soundtrack with Master P is crazy. He is one of many that I worked with back in the day. I didn't know how to hustle. I wasn't selling *ex or robbing men. I didn't finish college but I just found out that my pictures are being sold on ebay. I will forever be independent. And I'm gonna figure it out 🙏

On top of that too, I will always buy the physical media, if you got it on wax, don't worry, I'll buy it for $50 all day, every day. I assure you I am not the only vinyl head in the country either, there are millions of us. And if you are selling CD's on the street add this one to your sale's pitch... "Every CD comes with a free selfie of you and me, trust me in 2 years you'll be making this your profile picture" something like that. Build the hype, build the belief, build the illusion. Trust me, them people on the street want a dream to believe in too, it may as well be yours.

After these Gate keepers been setting road blocks from everyday people to get into the industry. Now with distro kid you can be an independent artist. All these guys saying it’s no money in music 🤔 After YEARSsssss Of them bragging about how rich they got off music !!! Huh 🤔 Sound like bs to me. People listen too more hip hop today then ever before. When people can’t take advantage of you , you become worthless to them. Now they can’t take advantage of artist , it’s all of a sudden it’s no money in music.

I love the fact that artist are now going directly to the consumer because it removes the record label BS… record labels will only give deals to people who fit a certain narrative… that’s why most rap music is about shoot n kill, drugs, disrespecting women… yet conscientious, rap, and rap that has a positive message won’t see the light of day! I love that artist are now having the freedom to make the type of music that they want to express without being forced to participate in the pipeline to the prisons.
