Master the art of creating non-merged ROM sets with ClrMame Pro for Dummies

In today’s video we take a Merged set of Mame and we rebuild it into a Non-Merged set. This is important if you are looking to organize your roms, and take out the ones you don’t want or need.
For example, Lets take Pac-Man. There are 100’s of versions of Pac-man, and if you have a handful that you like. Maybe the world version, maybe you also want Puc-man, but you don’t need 20 other clones. You use the Non-Merged Rom Set as this is a One game per One rom ratio.
This is great if you want to edit your list for RetroPie, Batocera, Launch box, or even AttactMode.
How to Convert Merged MAME ROMs into Non-Merged Sets using Clrmame Pro

Nice guide but unfortunately it didn't work for me (version of 0.162 of DAT). I still get messages when launching games like "The selected game is missing one or more required ROM". After manual checking eg rom "gaplus" is missing at least some files. The game does not start. Interestingly, in the MAME 0.162.dat file for the "gaplus" rom, the list of required files is complete. However, Clrmamepro does not download these files. In addition, it downloads a lot of clones that I don't need.

@@TechicallyTNT That's why I often use a different solution. Games that do not start I download from a complete ready-made set, e.g. from archive. If one still does not work, I do an audit in the MAME gui version. I manually add the missing file in the audit. Unfortunately, this requires checking all games, although I have "only" almost 200 of them.

I am Only GUESSING, but verify that the rom you're using is the right version you need for that Emulator (from what I've googled you should use set 0.37b5). @@lucaboscolopalo7613 No it is not made to do that. It merges, un-merges, or Splits romsets. Nothing more. If you want to remove roms from an Arcade or Mame set, you un-merge them first, then remove roms manually, or with some form of automation.
