Hej Just found your page and have been thoroughly enjoying your detailed AND super informative videos. I was curious though how deep you can engrave with the S1? Thinking for future projects as I am still waiting on my machine to arrive, the depth if it's possible to use epoxy after and watching your cat inlay video. I have searched but can not find that info.

Very informative and interesting videos. I am looking all over youtube at Xtool S1 videos for handling and result and you are one of few that shows the whole process and how to do things when it is done. Love the staining of the last piece and that you show things in different light and angles and also materials. You are also low key funny. "Use a cheap brush for this" *brings out the expensive one*. Thanks for a good video.

Really nice boxes. The engraving really makes the boxes look expensive. Have you ever figured out how much it costs to make an engraving like the tulips? Just the operating cost.

Hey I got the same machine but have been unable to get the darkness like on your nightmare before Christmas. Is there any suggestions? Settings? Xtool has been somewhat helpful until recently when they told me my old coaster with a much lower powered machine was spray painted on.

Good morning.. beautiful work as usual.. I was just wondering where you get your wood from? Also, do you know how long they'll be holding their early bird sale, as I won't have the money to purchase it for about 2 weeks? Thanks, Jim Brady..
@woodworkingwithSkyler Жыл бұрын
I buy my wood on Amazon or ocooch hardwoods . I believe the early bird special is only till 10/21. Then the 200$ off coupon for purchases over $2000 will work till 11/2

Thank you for answering my question so quick, but I have another question..... I scroll saw and love to do inlay from time to time, but it's tedious to scroll. Enter your videos... since watching a couple of your videos where you do the laser inlay (why I now want a laser engraver).... I didn't catch how you determine how deep to make the cut in the main piece of wood so it accepts the inlayed cut piece. Is it just trial and lots of error or is there a more scientific way to know before hand....? Hope my question makes sense. Thanks again....... Ed
@woodworkingwithSkyler Жыл бұрын
Hi Ed. The pocket for the inlay is really just a deep engraving. Mostly try and error. The pocket have to be shallower that the inlay piece, I can easily sand the inlay piece flush to the surface

Well put together and informative tutorials....! I have been looking into the purchase of a laser engraver and wondering if you have ever used other brands to compare against the xTool s1. How easy is it to use for a beginner with not a lot of computer skills....? Thx : )

I used many laser engraving machines. I currently own 9 of them. Here is a video where I compared a few of different brands and machines. I have zero computer skills and I can tell you is really easy. It could be as easy as importing a design, scale to size and push the start button The Ultimate Diode Laser Comparison!
