I really appreciate the no BS fishing on this channel. All of these YT fishing guys are so focused on subscribers, videography and clickbait they have lost guys like myself. Great job.

Not sure what anyone else thinks, but that was one of the most informative skipping videos I’ve seen. Awesome job, this technique works. I actually got my butt kicked bye this technique by a guy who used a spinning rod for skipping under those dock. Kyle thanks so much for sharing all your secrets. As you and so many others keep all this info for themselves. You helping others the way you do is all going to make us better. We thank you!

This popped up in my play next, the one thing I try to tell people when they are roll skipping is to feel like your elbows never come out from under your shoulders. If you go using too much arm it’s a mess most of the time. So start by just making a roll with the elbows tucked(no skip) and keep doing that letting your bait get closer and closer to the water. Once you have the motion down start letting it touch the water. And your off! I could be way off base🤷🏻♂️ but that’s how I taught myself to do it.

The trick shots were fun too. My only problem was that I couldn't see what you were doing with your thumb. Were you touching the spool at the first skip. Was the reel set so that you wouldn't get a birds nest without touching the spool? I just couldn't tell. Thanks
@KyleWelcher5 жыл бұрын
Should have mentioned that. It's different Everytime. If the cast comes off wrong I'll apply pressure to attempt to fix the cast and I will gradually add a slight amount of pressure while raising my rod tip. I just had a tiny amount so I keep control of the bait

Man you did a great job explaining, only thing you missed- you seem to sweep the rod back after the lure hits the water then lift. You talked about the lift just not the back sweep. Good stuff- your a great fisherman
@TheNikonic4 жыл бұрын
It helps more line come off the spool so it gets back in there farther and prevents the jig from doing a pendulum. Or at least in theory... thats what I do. Give it a shot
@herb11665 жыл бұрын
The best way to teach somebody how to do it not just by words is by your body movement that's how I learn I just watch how you have your thumb constantly on the spool and how you used to tip of your rod cuz that's mainly what to use for control you do that swirling Action with the tip I haven't gotten that technique down yet because I don't fish off a boat very often and or fish around alot docks but mainly your body language would teach others if they know how to read and watch how you're doing it just like reading a book

Good job, Kyle, but the sound wasn’t the greatest. I lost what you were saying when you turned to look at the dock. Do they make wireless mics for those GoPros? If so, might be a good idea to invest in one you could wear on your shirt. You better keep an eye on Hunter. With that much talent in acting, she’ll be off to Hollywood before you know it.
@canez014 жыл бұрын
What about thumbing the spool? Feathering the whole skip just let raising the rod slow the bait? Keep up the no B.S. vids.
