Actually Virginia, you didn't look fake...you were just being the professional woman that you are. Now you're in a different phase....still professional [because that's baked in] but more relaxed. Both are brilliant and relatable. Thank you darling, you are helping me a LOT!!!! Much love Imi xxx

Gotta say l'm learning heaps on your channel Virginia - But your voiceover advice at 7.00 in your closet is truly top drawer (no pun intended) - Thanks for your tuition it truly is appreciated.

Wow!!! Virginia, you really distinguished yourself from current journalists when you used AI to analyze video comments. Bravo, young lady!

Excellent videos on this channel. Thank you Virginia. No offense, I have never seen a news “person” who could think for themselves much less teach. You are a natural explainer. Glad the algorithm found us.

i find it hard to script as my videos are primarily overhead videos of my desk. I am starting to put myself on camera. I'm loving all your advice. Great content Virginia!

You are just awesome. I “1/2-1/2” it, scripted and memorized. And I’ve been finding myself lost in what I memorize. I’m going to try the bullet points.

I start to do voice-over. My theme is old fashion magazines from the 30 to 60s. A lot of information to give. Unfortunately, I am a little short of breath due to asthma. More practice hopefully will give make it better.

I used to use a teleprompter🙈, then I was memorizing it🙉, and now I use a post-it 📎note with one or two prompt words to remind me what to say.🐒 I try not to clip it together but I just do the same 'type' of video over and over again...thanks for your videos - I find them very helpful.

@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr ha, so true! I used to have thousands of post-it notes on (and all around) my computer, but it stressed me out. That's why I have only been doing short-form videos and binge-watching long-form ones. I know I need to start a YT...soon. In the meantime, I will watch you - you are amazing! XOXO

How long do you talk about a particular bullet point before moving onto the next point because even if I bullet point I find myself saying so much in one bullet point and I think that's when viewers click off

I totally script. It’s what makes me use more slides because I get too scattered. I want to branch away from it! Thanks for this!

@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr I think what I'm realizing now is little quick clips are the way to go. Or maybe video a long meandering thing, but take only a little bit of it! ;)

Great video. Helpful. I find that I hyperventilate while talking out loud. I shallow breathe and find myself out sounding like I ran a marathon. So I have to break between each sentence or two to catch my breath. It is a bad habit and not sure why that happens. I have tried bullet points, rambling and teleprompter. By far, the easiest is bullet points.

I script and use a teleprompter app on my phone. If I’m not reading, I completely freeze up and forget what I need to say and it makes my editing life super difficult. I’m pretty good at mixing up my speech so I don’t sound robotic, but it’s the only way I can film with my face on camera
@ThisIsVirginiaKerr
@ThisIsVirginiaKerr Жыл бұрын
Interesting. I may test using a teleprompter. You need to be several feet away from your camera if you don't want your eyes to look like you're reading.

I began scripting so as not to forget anything. 🤓 I feel calmer when using a teleprompter lol
@ThisIsVirginiaKerr
@ThisIsVirginiaKerr Жыл бұрын
Scripting helps. As long as you don’t look like you’re reading with a teleprompter. That can hurt connection with your audience if it looks or sounds like you’re reading 😊
