Andy is so strong for doing such a public tribute so soon. Hope he gets some more private time to process it over the coming weeks without the expectation of the press rounds for masterchef promo. This was touching and emotional and he totally did this to honour his friend but hopefully other media outlets leave him and others alone for a bit.

I think sometimes the sooner the better, you know, since all the memories of Jock is still fresh, it'd be "easier" to process, to deliver, and to preserve. As for myself... I didn't think the loss someone I only saw on youtube (since I can only watch masterchef au on lifetime channel) for a short amount of time would have this much impact, but it did. Even now I still can't believe Jock is no longer around...

Yes that last line give it up for an amazing person whoever it may be. A good soul who had been to the dark side of life but persistenty fought everyday to do better. Its so hard is this life. Jock was always so lovely to the contestants and colleagues. Never cocky or nasty to look cool. Just empathetic and compassionate in a harsh world. You could see the friendship and respect between the 2 of them on the show, but knowing that they were so close off screen too makes me sad and smile at the same time. Thank you Andy, for doing this. I cried a lot upon seeing Andy. He is in pain and terrible sadness in losing his very close friend, Jock. He is really broken-hearted struggling to be strong. This is one of the reasons I love Masterchef Australia the most of any competition/reality show out there. When the entire judge trio was changed, I honestly wasn’t sure how I would like the new ones. But the second I met these 3, I knew I was just gonna love the show more. Jock was an amazing person, amazing part of the show, and this interview hits so hard because the show gives us so much. I honestly believe his legacy will be felt in the show for ever. As someone who lived in Scotland for 5,5 years, one of the reasons I had a lot of respect for Jock was that he wore a kilt for the finales of the seasons he was a part of. Like… It showed to me the level of passion and respect he had for the show in another way.

This was truly devastating to watch. So proud of Andy for getting through that chat considering how tough it was for him to do. And Jock would be having a laugh seeing Andy drinking something he didn't like in his honour. It's so sad knowing Jock won't be on Masterchef anymore. As Andy said, he was the life and soul of the competition, and it won't be the same without him 😢 but I'll definitely continue to watch.

I’ve watched the tribute the superstar chefs made for him and that made me cry, but this one has my shirt wet and my nose stuffy. I’ve commented on Jock’s Instagram posts a few times and it amazed me that he always replied whenever I asked a question. So I don’t doubt the truthfulness that he always made time for people. And time is one of the best gifts anyone could give.
