You're the Heisenberg of the Amazon game. the score number. the bigger the better? the max score is equal to the number of ASINS you put in , in the case that they're all ranking. Did I get that right?

What a complement, thanks! The bigger the score just means the more relevant that keyword is for the product/category. Generally you want to rank for these as they are driving sales for a number of relevant competitors and can send big signals to amazon on what your product is. There are some great, undertargeted words with scores of 3-5 as well - so they are important - but the high scores are typically the most relevant. Hope that makes sense.

THANK YOU Adam for sharing the knowledge. I used this exact method for my launch. After 4 days I am ranking 5 in top 10 and 46 in top 50. I am selling at 1.5-2x of market as my product is better than the competition and my Acos has been (based on the little data I have) between 13-18% on those days. Ergo: Already profitable & reached the 1k in sales milestone yesterday. @Adam Heist: 1) What is your PPC bidding strategy when launching? Fixed, Amazon recommended bids or do you add 10 or 20%? 2) At which point do you recommend to launch a phrase or broad campaign?

Two ways to think about it: 1) Red flag not to pursue the product or participate in those competitive markets; 2) If you have a compelling offer and differentiation against those other ASINs, you may look at them as being disruptable.
