I just found you, and I immediately subbed because of the sheer genuine personality you have, BUT i would like to ask a question. Dunkey's way of doing the clips seems simply too messy with dozens of clips. Have you thought about doing it so that you only talk when there's something going on that's interesting, and then using an AI Silence remover like TimeBolt in order to just automatically remove your silences before putting that into Adobe Premiere Pro/Sony Vegas? The clps are considered CUT, so if you wanted footage from right before or after you talked, you just have to drag that clip out to reveal the cut footage again you want ot use. I've thought about doing it Dunkey's way, but like I said, it just feels like such a messy way of doing it.

I just recently started working for myself and have been having a terrible time staying focused and figuring out how to even do this content creation stuff. As a boomer trying to learn OBS, I am simultaneously (1.) depressed by seeing how much time and effort young men put into playing video games while the real world is burning -you’re collectively like Simba, still hanging out with Timon and Pumbaa; and (2.) delighted by your openness to share really valuable tips, like the split screen, and the daily Iphone improv monologue, and the button to start and stop recording so everything is pre-split into nice little clips. Really, really helpful. Thank you.

Day 3 - part 24:30-25:00 - was the major point I guess, cause, even though the whole idea of 7through7 is great, it is to motivate someone to start doing something and improve on that "concept", there was another video where you stated that one should start with creating an idea of what the heck they wanna do with their content, and build on that, like "foundation", everything else goes along. kitchen here, bathroom there.. I did not realize that I skipped most of the steps, because, I am somehow instinctively already doing what I wanted/want, but, my flaw was/is small aesthetics like the ones that you used 2 hours on.... small stuff.... cosmetics is not my niche, which I will also have to use a lot of time working on imagination. Full circle, that might not be the case with someone else. I think that by mastering a skill over one self time organization is by taking a better look at what 10-20 other people do to organize themselves and create a similar template on which they will upgrade in time. The core is determination and discipline. "Think simple, but think long game", this works for me. Thanks for the video, I did enjoy.

i think that adding tasks to your morning dump kills the idea of the dump. of course its different for everyone but for me the concept is not to start focusing and figuring out what to do, but to get rid of all the extra stuff running around in my brain bucket. adding goals and tasks to the morning dump would be counter productive to me, and I beleive thats why its taking you an hour. try just 5 -10 minutes of "stream of conciousness" just write randomly whats there to let it out and then your brain can focus.
@StreamScheme

I am aware this has been covered before elsewhere, but how do the preparation/productivity/off-camera parts apply to livestreaming? Another way of putting it is could you please touch on how you approach your actions/planning in advance and any "ritual" in the same-day-as-stream lead up to a stream session. Also what do you do after a stream ends to connect that one to the next session's plan? How do you adapt a plan if the preceding session didn't go the way you hoped? I find a lot of similar vids only talk about creating videos, as though live doesn't exist in the realm of content creation.

when you talk about morning dumps, I wish you spoke on the difference between night owls and early birds! I work evenings, and while I have the option on my personal time to go to bed around 1AM and wake *fairly* early (10am-ish) I also frequently choose to stay up until 4-7am and sleep until it's time to go to work the following evening. I am unsure about whether not I want to lean into this habit, or commit to early rising and staying awake for 14-16 hours with no naps, which is easier to do when I sleep until 4pm, go to work for 8 hours, and then stay up 6-8 hours after working. I just feel like waking up early in the morning and staying awake until 1or 2am is TOUGHHHH. what do you think? I am also a streamer and content creator.

A really good software for public speaking is this VR game which has audience leave if you use fillers like "Um and And" or if you take too long of pauses, also if you are hard to understand. at 16:50 you described how you separated the audio channels (game play versus camera) which i already do, but you indicated that they aren't burned into each other. What do you mean? How would you extrapolate the audio only from your microphone versus the game if on same file?

Explained in another video on OBS :) But I add audio sources to individual tracks inside OBS, so for example I'll send the USB mic to just 2, and the Game Capture source to just 3, etc. Any guide on OBS recording for Audio should cover this as long as it isn't a beginner focused video or site :)

why not combine the 10 minutes of public speaking with the morning dump by doing 10 minutes recording yourself doing a morning dump orally (that's a horrible sentence to type!)? Maybe add a few minutes of prep to collect your thoughts so you have a rough idea of the ground you want to cover so that you can fit it into a relatively brief recording?
