Brilliant! This technique is such fun, but you've opened my eyes to seeing more effects for so many different other ideas and areas. I have loved using this technique for a great effect for paint rocks and seaweed, I also used it to create an underwater background in a painting of coral and colourful abstract rocks as a background for painting a seahorse. I'd never thought of using this for painting trees or creating movement on a water surface. YES 👍😍

Morning Sharon. Thank you for sharing . I have used clingfilm before for my cardmaking but it was using brusho's and other paints onto the crushed up clingfilm and then putting the water colour paper ontop of the clingfilm and gently pressing down.. I do love this effect you have created today... I see a waterfall at the end of your path... I will need to try this...
@SharonHurst Жыл бұрын
Ooo, I have never tried doing it this way! Have you tried putting the colour into washing up liquid with a tiny bit of water. Then blow it into lots of bubbles through a straw. Lay the paper gently on the coloured bubbles. It make s a lovely effect.
@LouisaSharp Жыл бұрын
@@SharonHurst No I hav'nt tried with washing up liquid... something new to try... I have used the brusho's and water oan AIDA fabric and stamped onto it after it had dried... I did love how that turned oot... I have painted with watercolours oan AIDA ages ago then I free stiched oan top of it... I do like to challenge meself now and again... :) I will be stitching oan a large red sampler this afternoon while visiting some friends oan flosstube.... Happy painting / crafting...

I wonder if this technique would work with alcohol inks - you’d obviously have to work with smaller areas as they dry so quickly. Have you ever tried?
@SharonHurst8 ай бұрын
@@Richiedei50 no, never tried.if you have a go, can you let me know the results? Working on Yupo might be best, it slows the drying.

Leave the Saran Wrap on…it looks really cool.
@SharonHurst7 ай бұрын
There is no reason at all why you couldn’t do that, but as it lifts off on its own when it is completely dry, I reckon there is a solution….mix PVA in withe the paint before you put it on! Thanks for watching. 🧡

What type of tape do you use for the border? All those I have tried take the surface off the paper.
@SharonHurst4 ай бұрын
Hello. If I am not going to be using a great quantity of water I use masking tape. If you find that it is tearing your paper, there is a trick before you stick it down. Having torn your length off the roll, simply stick it to your skirt or trousers once or twice and the lint from your clothes lessens the tacky glue. Then stick it on your paper. However, if I have a wet piece of work coming up where the paper will probably cockle, I used brown gummed tape. Once this is on your work, that is it! You can’t get it off and I use a long ruler and a scalpel to cut the painting out. So if you are painting to size, always remember and allow for the losses each side for the tape. Hope that helps. S x
