discipline is HARD... and it's even harder for people who fall under the nuerodivergent umbrella! I am someone who has had ADHD my whole life but I was never diagnosed until adulthood. My life started to make sense afterwards. mastering discipline is a challenge but I have found a way to hack the system in a comfortable way!

I’m undiagnosed but the signs are there and it’s so hard and I try everyday it’s gotten worse the older I’ve got. This video really helped me because nobody understands how my brain works. I don’t know what my purpose is because I’m good at almost everything cause I hyper focus and then put it down when it’s bores me 🤦🏾‍♀️🥺.

I’m so happy you did this idea on a video! Ever since I started “hacking” my adhd, my life has changed! I also find anything that surges dopamine (alcohol, 🍃, etc) can only be done in very small quantities, because too much will absolutely drain all dopamine and motivation afterwards

I touched on this topic as well and I have a rather “dramatic” cleaning routine but it works for me lol. Being neurodivergent can be a struggle at times and it often looked at as if you’re “lazy” but it’s just that our brain works differently. To all who are like this, try rob give yourself grace. We got this ❤

Omg, thank you for making this. As a neurodivergent/adhd girl, Im very happy when I see that someone with same issues as me succeded and got the life that they wanted. It gives me confidence that I can do it too. I would love to see a more positive approach to adhd in terms of how can we improve, how can we use it to our advantage, rather than being stuck in a victim mindset and thinking that we cant do it just beacause we are not neurotypical like other people.

One thing that has helped me buckle down and do certain things like planning, making lists, and studying is changing my environment. I’ll go to Starbucks with my noise-cancelling headphones or reserve a study room at the library. It has done wonders for me. Including getting through grad school. Disclaimer: I do take medication for my ADHD

Thanks for addressing this topic Hailey! I have autism and there are definitely some shared challenges in terms of staying organzied, completing tasks, excessive daydreaming, etc. Last year I just stopped being so hard on myself. That helped a lot! Beating yourself up makes it hard to focus :)

Hello Hailey. I came across your video as I am also an adult struggling with adhd. Everything you said about your struggles in the intro are exactly the struggles I go through everyday. ( Immediately subscribed.) On top of what you said, I bring upon myself migraines because I am also a big time Insomniac as I cannot manage myself better enough to get some sleep. I fail miserably at normal tasks no matter how much I put my heart into it. I try but fail. I am super creative though. Like you I have the zeal to excel in multiple fields. I'm an amateur musician, artist, marital artist, novelist and there's a ton i wanna do. That is definitely the plus side but also the minus because I work myself to exhaustion. I don't know if anyone can relate but each day I struggle to manage myself. But end up drained. It is obvious that I suck at self care And then I have to take a day or two off days. I really struggled to build a rhythm. I have been struggling for many years now. The doctors who treat my migraine and insomnia always speak of discipline but they don't understand that concept doesn't applied to those with ADHD and neuro divergent people. Definitely I am not an expert and, maybe discipline does work but it is super hard for neuro divergents. But they are also the people who try their hardest and I am one of them so I am not giving up. Ironically my doctor brushes off my concerns regarding ADHD. Even everyone in my family think that I am just lazy or indisciplined. Because I am not hyperactive in front of them you see. But I definitely feel it in my head. I haven't been officially diagnosed yet but I know who I am. I have always felt different all my life and... Yeah now I need to prove it by getting myself diagnosed. I am an adult now and I am going to get it diagnosed soon. Anyone who read this comment this far, thankyou for reading. I wish you the best in your life, ❤️ more power to you 💓

The biggest tip to achieve more discipline is to be accountable and tell the things you are going to do to other people so they keep you accountable. I’m beginning to think that the biggest tip is being a youtuber as your life is on display, you have to keep your image clean and be accountable to yourself and your viewers.

love this!! adhd also changes depending on what phase of your cycle you’re in. I like to plan my life around that as well with the first two weeks as the high energy weeks where I can execute a lot.

I love the change the clock back idea!!, the mood board, the lists! Shit the whole video is what I needed! Becoming more organized. As a mom of 2 autistic boys (4 and 8) it’s so overwhelming that I put myself last. I need to keep track of myself!
