Thanks so much!Just keep learning form the rejection reasons and keep uploading.😅 My first few hundred videos got rejected and I had no Idea why, it was all the wrong frame rates and dimensions. Now I have a much better grasp on it all and more and more videos accepted

Thank you for the video. Could you please tell how to upload vertical video properly? Just on their side? I don’t like how they look in the portfolio that way and I think that for clients it’s hard to understand what’s on that video. But I tried to turn them over and it looked great in the portfolio but the quality was so much worse. Maybe there is a way to make it work that I don’t know, thank you

Thanks again for such great content! Very helpfull! Question about organizing your footage AFTER editing: do you load them all to Lightroom then, in order to organize your video files together with your photos, and then upload them to Im Stocker, like you do your photography work? OR, do you just save the edited video files directly to the folders that you're going to upload to Im Stocker? Thanks so much!
@wollertz
@wollertz 2 ай бұрын
I’ll make a video about this. But I just put the video in a folder and load them into imstocker, not lightroom

Question, can I upload Open Gate footage to any of the agencies and if so I guess they would sell for more because of the possibilities they present? Thanks always for a very informative video once more !! ❤
@wollertz

As long as it is within the acceptable resolutions then yes! But each agency has their own accepted resolutions, so it might be limited

Thanks a lot. Rec709-A or Rec 709 Gamma 2.4? Which one to choose as output?
@wollertz
@wollertz 2 ай бұрын
My understanding is different gammas for different viewing environments, generally gamma 2.6 for cimema, 2.4 for TV, and 2.2 for web.

@@wollertz I am concerned about apple's gamma shift issue. If you play any video on an apple computer using quicktime player gamma tags do not work and the viewer sees totally different gamma and colors. Rec709-A tag seems to be a solution and it is for apple devices, to see correct gamma. So Rec-709-A may be good for the finalized video edit. However what we create are intermediate videos. They are to be included in a project, they are not finalized. We do not know in what color environment the buyer works. And most editors do not know how to read gamma tag. Those color tags even effect how they are seen on stock agencies' webpages on different environments. (MacOS or PC). That is it effects their decision to buy the footage. You said, "My understanding is different gammas for different viewing environments, generally gamma 2.6 for cimema, 2.4 for TV, and 2.2 for web." That is true. Gamma differences between those tags are standard, so The same video is created for TV on gamma 2.4, and converted to gamma 2.2 (ligtened in a standard amount) for web use, and converted to gamma 2.6 (darkened in a standard amount) for cinema. So you have three versions of the same video with standard deviations of gamma. What we are concerned on the other hand is the viewer must see the same gamma and colors on either PC or Mac or Premiere Pro or Final Cut or whatever. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for this. I just went to 3 different agencies and looked into their requirements and not one mentioned anything about gama. As far as color space all they have is Rec709 or Rec2020. This can be a very complicated and tedious industry with so many options, a lot of photographers that I know sell video from their phone, not even edited, Just trim and upload. I guess what I am saying is just upload what you have and how you feel it looks best. Same as with photos, this is a numbers game, and clips purchased from stock sites are for quick commercial adds or web use, I really don't think a big Hollywood production is going to be using stock video for their movies or shows 🤷‍♂️

Thanks so much for the video! I have a quick question about frame rates because I’m a bit confused. I’m shooting in 60fps on my camera-should I bring that into a 24fps timeline, slow it down to match, and export it at 24fps? Or should I put it on a 60fps timeline, slow it down by 60% to get the 24fps and then export at 60fps? Not sure if I’m thinking about this the right way, so I’d really appreciate your help!
@wollertz
@wollertz 2 ай бұрын
Thanks! Ok so you have a few choices, if you film in 60fps crate a 60fps time line, export at normal speed. If you load that 60fps footage in a 30 fps timeline you can slow the footage down to 50% speed and export at that 30fps. Same with 24fps you can slow it down to 40% from the original 60fps and export it that way. But if you load a 60fps on to a 60 fps timeline and slow it down its going to look choppy (like the example I showed with the Kayak) If you load the 60 fps clip onto a 24fps timeline and export it without slowing it down then the buyer only has a 24fps video. Hope this makes sense 😅

@@wollertz Thanks for the explanation, that really clears things up! I’ll experiment with slowing it down on a 24fps timeline like you suggested. Appreciate the help! Thanks again.

Hey bro … l need your honest opinion, am so frustrated right now about the camera to buy , the thing is l am totally a beginner in photography, wanted to buy canon m50 mark ii for my my journey, do you think it’s worthy for stock photography. Thank you
@wollertz
@wollertz 2 ай бұрын
Yes, definitely... But... Look at the Canon R50. Its the mirrorless version of the M50, small differences, the main difference being the lens mount. The canon M50 II takes EF-M lenses and are very limited, the Canon R50 Takes RF-S and RF the difference between RF-S and RF is that RF-S is only for crop sensors and will not work on a full frame camera like the R6 or R5 but pro glass (RF) will fit the R50. So when you start investing in lenses you will be able to use them with a new camera body if you decide to continue with photography. With the M50 you would have to replace everything down the road. Hope this helps, its a long term decision and theres too many options out there, keeping it within the same system can save you a lot of money in the long run
