The order 66 was basically how the USSR annexed Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. They signed "The Pacts of Mutual Assistance" in which the USSR was allowed to put a limited amount of troops in their territory (the pressure was huge). Since it was the Soviets, they went over the troop limit by a LOT and gave an ultimatum to the governments to either join the USSR peacefully or get "order 66'd" So yeah, it is historicalish

I think this is common practice throughout history its also basically how the dutch voc took over most of the region by positioning administrators and armies in places of the local monarch and later up the dutch state who took over voc basically annexed it all and put it under jurisdiction of jakarta with local rulers only assisting not exerting full controll like it used to do partially under the voc Edit: refering to indonesia

Merge your navy into a death stack, set to naval invasion support, concentrate your forces on a single port, naval bomb if you can, build bathtubs in advance, order your naval invasions to attack, and wait until your troops land. Attacking from different sea zones at the same time will increase the chances of landing successfully. You don't need to confront the whole British navy, ai will repair or shuffle them around.

He had troops everywhere in the country to "protect his dear ally from the English", then decided that his own brother was a more suitable king of Spain than the king of Spain. This did not go very well for Napoleon, and the peninsular war is often called "Napoleons Vietnam".

To answer your question about the effect of the improving relations, the Netherlands' independent democratic faction uses the generic invite to faction event, which is used in a ton of places, even places where it really shouldn't be (I'm looking at you, Turkish national focus tree). This event has the best chance of success if the target's opinion is over 65 (there are also a lot of other factors unrelated to opinion). Ostensibly you could micromanage your improve relations effects to keep it as close as possible to 65 without going under but that's a lot of effort to save a handful of political power - suffice it to say that improving relations is helpful for this path. Proposing Benelux Unification will always be accepted by AI Belgium and Luxembourg, even if they hate you.

It doesn't have the sophistication to take into account half the things people think it can, it doesn't understand what different event options do, it just blindly follows the scripted weights.

The Scottish example of order 66 was between Clan MacDonald and Clan Campbell. MacDonald hosted them with the intention to build a lasting peace between the rival clans and the Campbell's decided it was the perfect time to end the feud once and for all by slaughtering the entire castle.

The Order 66 you talked about was actually a Scottish Clan, called the Campbells, who were at times favoured by the English Court, but played more as political maneuverers, aiming to be First Amongst Scottish clans

if you want to get your troops as possible from A to B just make a fallback-line to where you want them to be and then (important) assign them to that. So that way they will use all local possible mobilization (the green arrows) to get there you want them to be. I have the feeling that it sometimes make your divisions even faster in the desert by, using local horses? I guess lol. Greetings from Germany i really like your videos.

The UK is always difficult to take out due to their Wooden Wall (navy). You could have used paratroopers since it would be possible to get green air and have to worry about naval supremacy

Using order 66 against France is like historical payback, they historically used it against spain with the Treaty of Fontainebleau 1808 (the treatise was signed on 1807 tho). They were supposed to conquer Portugal fighting along with Spain, but now that they were there, they just took over Spain.

In this case, order 66 may be justified. For one because it's against France, that's a matter of principle. But mainly I'd imagine this being the post-war settlement in Paris going wrong. France complains that the Dutch took everything instead of liberating, with the Dutch bastards insisting on a European Union settlement. The French double down, and the Dutch use their returning troops for a coup n Paris, which works because the French are disjointed as hell. Britain is furious and the Dutch Allies initially refuse to help, and in the chaos, the USSR decides now's the time to eat Poland.

I only learned that you could use puppet's troops to save your mainpower after capitulating Germany in 1941. But was almost helpless aganist Japan, who refused to declare war on british and french and USA who also joined the minor democracies of europe hid their 400 ships somewhere in antartica(or moon). I only had 30 divisions against the Germans at first, but Italy took over a year to join,so chezch Republic and Swiss managed to survive. The biggest mistake was not to grant access to French. Great video, I am glad I saw it after 2 attempts to survive as the dutch.

Following game files, having relations at 65 maximizes the chance for each eligible country to enter the Dutch EU. In my first run they all accepted without improving relations. In my 2nd run, Denmark refused. I reloaded an autosave 2 days before the event, improved relations for 2 days, and that made Denmark accept as well. You can take one other focus while waiting for Cave to the British, but any further delay will cause Romania to do their dictatorship focus and become uneligible to join the EU. I used 24 9/2's with support arty, aa and ENG to conquer northern Germany, while a 30 unit army of 9/0's and 9/0's with ENG to slowly push south. No need for the massive amount of divs Taureor uses, although I do believe he capitulated the Germans quicker than I ever did. In 1940 the SU attacks Poland. I choose to focus on that war and postpone fighting the allies, because I like to finish the focusses and decisions for the western colonies first.

they should add another diplomat to espionage ideas, 2 extra diplomats gives you a whole lot more flexibility to use them for building more spynetworks but also for all the other diplomatic interactions (improving relations, sending offers, integrating, getting vassals etc).

Ive played the netherlands twice once in vanilla and the second time in kaiserreich. Both times i fled to indonesia. In vanilla i annexed germany and japan, and invaded the ussr and mostly crushed them. In kaisereich, I took over mexico, annexed south japan and pretty much all of south east asia including australia as well as germany.

Now, I am not sure whether it is 100 percent true but in my experience, minor countries such as Poland or Czechoslovakia do not take states that are not their claims or cores if they are not leader of a faction. So they basically won't take any land in peace conference and will just give their score to you most of the time.

I love this focus tree, its so OP. The only downside is that you have to stay democratic. You can justify on Spain, but you have to be fast. After Republican Spain surrenders and N Spain annexes it, they create a small world tension.

It's always better to naval invade the British from the sides of the country not from the English Channel, because they will have their best navy there. Paratroopers also do the job because the British island is not very well protected since they have all their units spreaded around the world. You can even do it as a minor nation in early game
