Anything is possible and I'm surprised the Origins has not yet made Night stalker and that evil wind Raider. They are both low cost Tooling and Repaints easy for mattel. I Think the Problem is The Veichles are becoming harder to Sell at retail because of the box sizes and what the retail cost and shelving space allows Today. They really want this stuff to move fast and it just sits there then seems to go on clearance from what I seen in my stores with the bigger items.

It's probably much cheaper and faster for Mattel to get this stuff out in the Origins without going through more Expensive Tooling and Engineering to install and Make the Action features work. We live in different times from the 80s were it was much cheaper and convenient to make toys like that then. I’m afraid action features are going to be in short supply going forward. This isn’t being marketed to kids it’s for adults and the focus is display. Mattel did their homework. They know who’s buying. Great review as always. Love hearing your perspective.
@Themanchlid2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for stopping in MOTU Jonezer! Yes I have a feeling as The Origins line continues the action features will be replaced with just Retro style play or simple collectable versions that have manual basic functions in place of the Vintage line Mechanics .I think the changes is a combination of simple design for the collectors but to save Tooling and Engineering money and get the more Vintage inspired Origins out faster. A figure like the wave 11 Rattlor for Example is all new Tooling and probably cost between 50 000 and 100 000 dollars for Sculpt and Tooling. Then you throw in The Engineering, Mechanics and factory assembly for that Vintage inspired Neck spring action. It costs alot more. So its just easier to make ball peg snap on parts. We live in a different world now then the 80s with everything do to high inflation and post covid Changes. We can really see it with our Toys now!

Thanks for checking the review out 👌. That's a great deal for this set! That's probably what it should have costed since day one. These are being found now much easier since the time I made this video. Yes, many people were surprised or upset because both pieces had no action features like the vintage ones. meckanek just pops together with his neck, and the Ground Ripper is just a push vehicle now. It's a bit disappointing! I think they did this not only for liability today. But it's saves a ton of money on tooling and engineering costs to produce these figures like that. The 80s were much different times to produce toys. Today, it's sp expensive and much more red tape to get things done. I had a feeling the ground Ripper wasn't gonna have the rip cord feature!

Condidering how hollow the main body is, they could have had it so we could "pull up" the neck out of the body (if they didn't want to do any mechanism). Also, my old Ripoer damaged many doors, walls, and ankles with its sheer mass and force. 😅 So thats my guess as to why the new one doesn't.
@Themanchlid2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking the video out. That's a interesting idea too with the Neck being pulled out of the body. But even then To mane that work is still engineering to recess the neck piece and make it stay up with a stop. It was probably easier to just reuse and repaint the already tooled He-man buck with the neck ball peg set up. Plus a Hollow body has to be assembled with the internal neck piece. It's more time and money. I don't think Mattel is looking to invest that now when they are trying to pump out more Origins stuff Faster and Cheaper. I got mine from the Paulmart store when he had some in stock. Places like Wamart and Target online are having issues with Certain Masterverse and Masters of the Universe Origins Stuff because of supply chain problems. The Masters of the universe origins King Hiss and Thunderpunch He-man for Example were scheduled for late November and now delayed until February 2023 on Walmart. Some Sellers on ebay have a Few but expensive.

Will a Masterverse figure fit on that Ground Ripper?
@Themanchlid2 жыл бұрын
Technically yes. I just tried The Masterverse first Release He-man. He does fit and articulate good in the seat. But the legs go over the foot rests and on to the platform equal with the Front wheel.
@thespaceram2879 Жыл бұрын
Does it work with classics and masterverse? Can they sit there correctly?
@Themanchlid Жыл бұрын
The classics figures can work on it depending on the figure. So yes, but my legs are bent a bit. You can sit Masterverse on it, too. But they look very big on it, and the legs go all the way up to the front. So yes, they can work. But not the most practical setup, depending on the figure. The regular He-man or Skeletor figures in the Classics or Masterverse will fit the best, for example. Figures like the Masterverse Clawful will not because of the armor and feet design. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching 👍

I wish that the sunman line was never included in motu origins. It just takes up slots that could be used for actual motu characters. Hoping to eventually get blast attack, dragstor and extendar
@Themanchlid2 жыл бұрын
I don't mind that they are putting out Sunman figures that can work with the Motu figures. But I also wish they were not un the Origins line. That could of been another Vintage or Animation figure in the slots like you Mentioned. I Think Extendar is not far. Blast attack and Dragstor is a must for me too👍
@Rocket13772 жыл бұрын
No it doesn't. Adding easy to make figures (like Sun-Man and the minicomic variants of Stratos, Trap Jaw etc) actually increases our chances of getting unique tooling in the line. Mattel can save resources by reusing the basic He-Man body for more characters, and can then utilise those extra dollars on the likes of Extendar and Modulok.
@Themanchlid2 жыл бұрын
@@Rocket1377 That is a good point and you are correct. Some people just don't want every Character or Sunman characters. I have a couple. I don't want all of them. But I understand the need to make quick reuse of Tooling and repaints for more tooling money to make new figures. This is exactly what made the vintage line so successful👍

The Ground Ripper's second head looks more like a dragon or dinosaur than a snake. 🤔 Besides, evil warriors don't have Road Rippers in their roster anyway. They have their own version of Sky Sled. 😁
@Rocket13772 жыл бұрын
Nothing stopping Mattel from changing that. Or they could give the alternative Road Ripper to the Snake Men.

Thanks for checking out the review. Yeah I think that second Mantle was a concept piece going back to the Original Road Ripper before The vintage toy came to be with the original Design we know. Yeah The bad guys had the same sky sled in the animation. But I don't remember different heads on that one like The Origins have you So why not a bad guy road Ripper with a Snake Mantle👍

Thanks for watching. Yeah me too. But I think the newer Origins stuff will start to lack certain action features as time goes on because of extremely expensive extra Tooling and Engineering costs to make that stuff work. So its easier to just make Retro Style play with manual features and the Ball peg snap on Features to get More Vintage inspired Newer Origins out there.

Such a disappointing release. Not even a pull-back motor for Road Ripper to replace the ripcord feature, and since I want an extra Mekaneck I now have to spend more on him due to this crappy vehicle, which is inferior to the vintage one.
@Themanchlid2 жыл бұрын
I think we are going see more Origins Veichles with Retro play and lack action features to save tooling and Engineering money to get stuff out faster. Yeah I wish Meck-e-neck would have been carded instead of this two pack. This pack was also a concept idea going back to the JC penny's catalog in the 80s with a picture of the Road Ripper and Meck-e-neck on it I believe.
@FandomEntanglement2 жыл бұрын
I don’t mind that they didn’t include the rip cord for the Ground Ripper. I’m not even sure if I always used it for the vintage vehicle anyway; pushing it with my hand accomplishes the same thing. Mekaneck though…again, I feel like if they had just made this a deluxe figure, they could have found a viable way to incorporate the extended neck feature. I (and I would think many other MotU fans) would gladly pay a bit more if it meant keeping the action features intact on most of the more well-known characters. I know I sort of sound like a “whiney fanboy.” I don’t usually get like that; I guess my “complaint” comes from the fact that Origins started in 2019, and Mattel has had three years to figure out a solution other than a plug-and-play neck extension (which they already did for Classics about 10 years ago). It just seems kind of lazy, in my opinion. I’m no toy designer, but it really doesn’t seem like it would be all that difficult. Look at Moss Man: he’s going to be a deluxe figure due to the flocking, and I’m all for that! Good! I want my Moss Man to be flocked and smell like pine, otherwise there’s really no point! I’ll still get this at some point because I’m a completist and I love MotU…just a tad disappointing when some of what made these figures unique in the first place is no longer…unique…
@Themanchlid2 жыл бұрын
Yep I totally understand all your suggestions and dissapointments. I too have similar thoughts when getting this stuff. As you mentioned! Mattel did the simular stuff with the Classics. But even now because of cost the Classics Deco, Designs and Overall figures are more Expensive to produce then Masterverse figures. So I believe the Origins, Depending on the figure is in the same boat..I also agree with making certain figures in deluxe styles like Meck-e-neck and add those extra features. However many people are not happy with buying Deluxe style and spending more money on Origins even if they come with extra stuff as I have read in the comments. Again we live in different times and many people are struggling to pay, Rent, bills and food because of some the Highest inflation in US History. So spending more money on Toys and cheap little figures that use to be 4.99 in the eighties with less articulation of coarse is a big deal to many out there. My wallet hurts too with many things when I have a couple Thousands of dollars in bills every month. But I'm glad the Origins line is here and Thankful for the Cool reimagined figures from my childhood I can collect once again with little better sculpts and Articulation.👍
