Mattel will do a retail release. They will change up the colors and change up the spirit. If you look at their past exclusives, they have gotten a retail release. The Revelations SDCC Scareglow is getting released in wave 3. So odds are you’ll get this. All this cost a lot to tool. So Mattel will need to recoup some of that investment. Making a low run is a financial loss. Sorry for going on. I just wanted to stress that you will get a chance at this.

@@williamthompson5504 Yes if the origins line continues long enough. I can totally see another release of all three items. Certainly the space man and spirit of greyskull! I have a feeling they would do the space suit in a white toned color maybe to go back to the captain Glenn concept in the filmation cartoon. And the spirit of greyskull in also greyish or glow in the dark plastic I think. Yes they spent alot of money tooling this stuff! I would make sense to sell all these items seperate as repaints or packed with a figure maybe.

I'm not sure what order these exclusives will ship in. Powercon sales was first, then maybe BBTS orders and Mattel creations sale was annouced last. And it depends how many orders/units were made and shipped on the sea containers, I heard November the Mattel creations are gonna ship. Theres also the shipping delays too going on. But Hopefully very soon👍

Great review Man Child! I got mine from BBTS so its still pending delivery at some point. Seeing this review gets me even more excited to get it. I do think that the Classics Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain scale better with the Origins figures. I would prefer them over what we got or may get in Origins.

Yeah the BBTS Supply of the exclusives usually ships out a couple of months later after the main exclusives start to ship, which is happing now. There is a big problem with the sea container shipping delays on many products. So that might even delay more time in getting these in hand. It all depends if these exclusives were shipped on one ship for the powercon, mattel creations and the big bad toy store shipments. Not really sure on how many were made and sold. Hopefully you see them start shipping within the next month or two! I totally agree with the scale being better with the classics greyskull and snake mountain for the origins. I already had the classics stuff and then the origins came out. I started getting some of them and of coarse then started collecting and putting them all over the classics play sets. I really liked that better! All the Motu is really great. You can mix and match certain things and just have fun👍

@@ozymandias2k Yes, Thats mailer. The box with the three accessories is around 13-7/8 tall x 13-5/8 long × 3 -1/2 deep. Strange measurements. The mailer is tight around the inner box. I keep the boxes for this. But all the other origins I removed because of space too.

It's funny you mentioned that! Because I did say that about another rumor of were the space suit came from during my back story and explantion of it's origins in catsule greyskull. But I cut that out in editing so I wasent talking to long. The classics made her with the suit from earth where marlena came from But it was in all green. There was also a variant version of captan Glenn or marlena coming out in all white like filmation But then the classics line ended. Maybe down road we will see that figure in origins!

The funny thing to the castle grayskull is that looks equally sinister as the snake mountain as well in many parts! In fact many aspects might also be more creepy in grayskull than the baddies place in the playsets & the series as well to tell you the truth! Grayskull had those monsters and creeps below i believe for a defense mechanism for intruders etc to scare off them even though they also have their fair share of scare in their turf as well! Those are awesome pieces that after so many years recreated them for adults,but i find it kinda unfair that we cannot see them worldwide and are exclusively for usa!

Thanks for watching and your comments. Their is a couple of different back stories to the true origins of the dungeon grate concepts and why it was in catsule greyskull with monsters coming out. The backstory or a more added back story comes from the classics line. The version you are speaking about is another concept that goes early on with the vintage toys and stories. Also when I research I will message or find information from Scott on the spector creative channel. He worked on the classics and MOTU for over ten years. He helped create back stories and new bios for that line. Also knows all the concepts and ideas for the figures, accessories with the original line. He did a video all about the dungeon grate around the time I was reading up on its purpose in greyskull..So that's what i used for facts or backstory to explain my found knowledge on what it is! I understand the frustration with not being able to get this set in hands out of The USA. I didn't like the idea that it is an exclusive. I to couldn't get my hands on one during the sale and had to resort from a seller on ebay for three times the cost to purchase and review one. Mattel spent alot of money on tooling and I can see these pieces being reused again in other waves as repaints as long as the origins line continues!

The spirit of grayskull looks semi translucent. Maybe get a cheap led light for the dollar store and put it behind the item when it's at the top of Castle grayskull. Or maybe get some glow in the dark paint and paint it on various parts to make it appear menacing in the dark. Bunch of ideas. Either way great motu package presentation. Keep em coming, you seem to be ahead of most toy bloggers on KZbin for this stuff.

I like the Led idea👍 I have done that on a couple of things with stuff. I sometimes get things early for collecting or reviewing because I'm a moron that pays extra Mark up to have things now!! Lol. Its all good. That's how I roll. But just wait till retail gets this stuff or BBTS. But exclusives are a little different. I purchased this set for a higher cost on ebay from a seller who had it early. So thats how I got mine! But thanks for the encoragment👍

Honestly it's hard to say. As far as a retail release in that exact set with all three pieces! I would say no. Because it was set up and manufactured in that style for the exclusives event. But mattel did spend alot of tooling money on this stuff. So I can see these tooled items showing up again as repaints in the line down the road as long as the origins line continues!👍

Thanks for checking this review out! No I never picked the Origins catsule greyskull because I have the Classics. This set can be used on any catsule greyskull for the most part I used it for my classics as I showed in the review.

Also they could go for some kind of light up features for those since are for adult collectors or glow in the dark features as well,since are special limited editions! Its a shame that they didn't work on aspects such as those in this set.

I agree. The set was around 35$ and there was three all new tooled items that could have been sold in cards for 15$ dollars a piece. Plus the collector box and art was costly. I would have also liked a light up feature in the spirit. And more creatures for the dungeon grate. But the cost for mattel was maxed out to do extra in time for power-con. I might customize my grate with more creatures and put an led in the base of the spirit too!

@@TwesomE What version are you referring too? If you mean the classics greyskull I used for the accessories pack devastation. Yes that's very expensive now on the secondary market. It was a limited subscription release from Matty collector in 2012 or 2013 I think. On ebay it goes for a 1000$ dollars now. Much much bigger and detailed from the origins greyskull.

I too could not get one of these with the mattel exclusives sales and paid three times the cost from a seller on ebay to acuire one for review and my collection. If you watched some of my videos I always mostly state my toy pic ups are from eBay and I paid a Mark up! My massage to that is telling people how frustrating it is to find figures in retail! Never mind trying to get exclusives! I am no wealthier than most people and the extra money to buy this stuff because it's my honest passion is a financial sacrifice sometimes. Having toys like this to collect and review gives me purpose and allows me to pass that on to others. Such as the ones who have this stuff coming and dosent want to take it out of the box to check it out! I was one of them for years! (MINT ON CARD COLLECTOR) Or just to show if it's worth it for the ones like my self or maybe viewers like your self that really wants one and with the magic of the internet and a lot of money you may or may not want to spend, then I have it in hand and here's the good and the bads! So is it really worth it? Only the collector can answer that! And the last message is maybe their will be other opportunities to get some of these figures in future waves or repaint two packs. Certainly with this accessory set. Mattel spent alot of tooling money on all three items. As long as the origins line continues long enough, it would make total sense to reuse all three of those exclusives but with a repaint tone of some kind in the main retail line! @@Goreminister Exactly! That's all we can do! I have a feeling we will see a white version of the space suit, because that would be reminisent of the captain Glenn concept from filmation. And maybe a white or glow in the dark version of the skull as it appeard in the early comics that I showed.The grate monster could have other creatures and a different color then sold like that! So the tooling and concepts are already there. It's just if the line can go long enough to squeeze those releases in there in time! Thanks for your reply as well as the comments! The Spirit of Grayskull appears in the original mini comics, looks very close to this SDCC version, but the illustration You showed in the video is not the original in which this figure is based on.

Thanks for the watching and the comments. That's the only illustration I have in hand avaliable for early concept art from the original cómics as you have mentioned. The art on the back of the box seems to be the main inspiration of the origins sculpt. I don't have the comics or the image of the art to show it. So more or less I used the first comic inspired art I had to show it's early origins.

Yeah there are people who custom painted or dry brushed their castle when they got it. There was lots of stuff cut from the release because the cost started getting to high. Extra accessories and the painting apps were some of the cuts. I got a good deal on mine used but still in the box from eBay a few years ago. But trying to get one now is super expensive and not worth that cost.

Yep! It's non sense! It's a really cool set and it has to be an exclusive as always. Maybe will see some single releases down the road with this stuff. There's alot of new tooling so why not make the money back in other ways!

These are three brand new sculpts that required hundreds of thousand of dollars in tooling cost. The price point for Grayskull would have jumped by $40+ which works against the point of having a large affordably priced toy into to get into kids/collectors hands. The box would have been even larger as well and shelf space is at a premium. Stores don’t give it up easy for toys since they account for only a sliver of total sales. It would have been great to see an all inclusive set but not business friendly for lots of reasons. I got one but hope they drop a retail version as well.

So as long as the origins line continues. I have no dout mattel will try to make that back. Its ashame certain figures in this line is difficult to get in hand today. But thats just the toy collecting realm today!

I guess it was the most cost efficent way to reimagine that big spirit cloud in the comics and translate it to toy form for the origins line. If it was designed for the Motu classics at the time it would probley be bigger and more detailed!

@@heinzaut The original idea of the origins was to motivate the older collector generation like us with that vintage nastalgia, but to get our kids into the line if we had any! The line is sold at retail in the toy isles. That is targeted for kids. Not adults! The adults collector stuff is usually it's own small space near the electronics, like Neca and Some mcfarlane stuff. The revalations is out in front or has it's own pegs for ages 12 and up! Mattel relieses now the collectors are more into the line than kids. That's why they released a new he- man and skelator 2.0 with the vintage heads, because of the collectors feedback. You can see the stuff put into the Power-con exclusives that was intended for the collectors. Over all it dosent matter who buy this this line. Be Kids, gifters, scalpers and the adult collectors. It has to make a certain amount of profit and sell well at retail for it to continue. So we have to support it. But the sad part is nobody can find the cool figures or wave they want or their very limited. Its alot of confusion on where and when the new origin figures will show up! Cross our figures and hope the distribution gets better in time👍
