“If everything comes together, I think I can get one more, do I need to describe that any more than that, or are we good?”
Tiger Woods, the five time Green Jacket winner, has no doubt he can get one more Masters championship.
---
Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

Whoever asked the question about "what does it feel like to wear a green jacket and come back here each year?" is the type of person we need in media. That was a wonderful question layered with respect and admiration. And the type of question that gets a very colorful response. Tiger in general was very animated today. I love old Tiger. He has so many stories that he is willing to share. Young Tiger barely said anything.

Just hard to know who/where to start. I went to my first practice round in 89. Back then, you found a space, parked and just walked in. I believe it was $8 at the gate. Went to my first Thursday and Friday rounds starting in 90. I was hooked. Everybody from my area (upstate SC), went to the Masters during those days if you put forth some effort. I've gotten passes in the parking lot numerous times. I'm rambling.

Tiger is already a legend in the game of golf. I'm sure we all have fond memories of watching Tiger with our Dad / Brother / Friends wearing his Sunday red, the thrill of watching him bury the clutch putts whenever he needed them most. I still remember where I was when he chipped in in 2005, or when he broke down at St Andrews in 06 after winning following the passing of his dad, or when he won in 2019. We're all a little older than we were when we first started watching Tiger, so seeing him swing it again is like a nice trip back down memory lane. Tiger is bigger than golf, he's bigger than race, he's bigger than politics and all the things that we let divide us. If we should be so lucky as to see Tiger stride down the fairways in his vintage red with a chance to win again, it would be like traveling back in time to perhaps a younger, lighter, happier versions of ourselves we once knew.

@@Codye-cf6ip I disagree. At the end of the day a game is just a game. If you use the game as a platform for meaningful change (Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson) or to inspire others to do things they never thought possible than you are bigger than the game which on its own is just perhaps a ball, a net and scoreboard. Agree to disagree.

It’s extremely hard to come from behind at Augusta. At one point the winner came from the final pairing 20 years in a row, from 1991-2010. The reason is that as the leader you have a big advantage on the second nine, you are the last to play the par 5s and scoring holes so you know exactly how much risk to take.

Compare this to Brooks Koepka d-bag tone today in his interview. Tiger is so elevated in stature that he can be polite with no thought to throwing down "swag." One day Brooks will mature.

I will say that Tiger's greatest strength is his will to win. However, he is facing a huge hurdle. Just playing the golf course is physically challenging for anybody. It is hilly. We will see how it goes. It is always a dramatic situation.
