I had no idea you could refresh a diamond blade!!! Does this work with all diamond blades, for example the Pearl P4?

Great demonstration sir! Would a finer stone (200+ grits) give some better results?

Question: How to sharpen wood cutting diamond saw blades? Thanks a lot friend.
@JustinMentionedIt2 жыл бұрын
You can sharpen many many blades with that? Look like you used most of it just then? Also why do continuous tile blades slightly chip the tile?
@MasterWholesaleInc2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can sharpen many times with a dressing stone. Make the cuts on it closer together and use all 4 sides. Blades chip tile when they are not sharp, cutting too fast, or applying too much pressure pushing the blade into the tile. Use a good quality blade with high diamond count and a nice slow cut and you will minimize chipping.

Great video. Is it important to saw in both directions, or is it ok to make all passes front to back. If important, please explain why.
@MasterWholesaleInc4 жыл бұрын
Great question, it is important to cut in both directions, because it gives you two points of entry on the blade and deglazes the blade more evenly and quicker.

Use a Bessa block it is cheep and a quick fix is to use a steel chill and tap the blade with it on out side edge every 3 mm or so will open up the segments to make cut fast agin . Also an angle grinder with a steel blade run around the blade face will make cut well again ps I have 25 years of concreating cutting under my belt

Sweet! Now that people see it can be sharpened save lots of stress.. If it's just build up on the cutting surface maybe there is an additive for the water that could keep the buildup from happening? ? Have you tried anything? Maybe washing the blade after use and toweling it dry??
@MasterWholesaleInc6 жыл бұрын
Thomas. Thank-you for your comment. There is not currently a product that would reduce build up, and washing a blade after use will not open the blade back up.

How often does this need to be done?
@MasterWholesaleInc7 жыл бұрын
Thank-you for your question! It depends on the blade you are using and what you are cutting. Usually when blade becomes discolored or stops working well you would want to deglaze it.

what about a saw that is non adjustable in plunging?
@MasterWholesaleInc7 жыл бұрын
A non adjustable saw will work to clean blades but you will not get as many uses out of a rubbing stone because you cannot adjust the height of the cut which minimizes the depth of cut on the stone and allows you to use both sides of the stone to open blades.

With a good aluminum oxide stone 2 to 4 cuts should do.

Will a 60/90 work??
@MasterWholesaleInc7 жыл бұрын
Yes, a 60/90 dual grit would work as well!

Great video. Did not know u could sharpen the blade! Mine cost $35.00 per blade @home Depot.
@Ryan-ff2db Жыл бұрын
Yes. If you cut small strips into the stone lengthwise and then cut off the cut edge you can actually use the stone about 10 times instead the way he did but the principle is the same and it does work.

Is a rubbing stone the same as a sharpening stone?
@MasterWholesaleInc6 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Master Wholesale Rubbing Stones are used to smooth tile edges after cutting and used to dress or sharpen tile cutting diamond blades.
@Thirdplace4life6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I pretty much figured it out. Just got confused cause some called it rubbing and some called it sharpening. I actually found them at the dollar store. Thats funny.
@thomasbroking79436 жыл бұрын
@@Thirdplace4life yes i also get mine at the $1 store but its a buck fitty... I call it whet stone..it looks like its just cleaning the sedimentation out of the divits..maybe parts cleaner & a stiff acid brush would work also??. It cut the stone, don't know why the customer retirned it.

i never knew you can sharpen one of these blades. My blades stop cutting and bent, and i threw them away.

Not going to return your dead blade back to life , never did .
@brianh60437 жыл бұрын
Segmented blades suck!! Over 30 years in the business and I guarantee a continuous rim blade is the only way to cut tile, when a cutting board won't !! As far as hardibacker, hahahaha...throw it away!!! Again...CEMENT BOARD IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO, When floating mud is not an option !!!!!
@richardlea8182 жыл бұрын
Obviously this is a very old post, but out of curiosity why dont you like hardibacker? Ive never had any major issues with it. Their siding stuff is terrible (delaminates) but ive found their backer to be more uniform than durarock or wonderboard. Btw, Ive only been in the game 10 years. Im always looking to improve my quality.
