It's great that you share your tips and tricks because the reality is that you could walk someone through it and still it would take them miles of applicator practice to get it right

So satisfying to watch. PS why do you put a bend in the nozzle?
@southcoastsealantsltd3 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. I bend the nozzle just so I know its mine 🤭

Great skills. Its all about applying silicone evenly and using good quality silicone. I've been using ice cream wooden stick and water mixed fairy liquid. Not as good as yours but still good lol.
@southcoastsealantsltd3 жыл бұрын
Thank you sir, yes I used to use that same method but I find this method. I now tool in with no excess with a tempered stick
@esinclair71712 жыл бұрын
Beautifully done. Do you cut the nozzle to the exact same diameter as the stick or slightly larger? Also are the wooden sticks that are available online any good as my carpentry skills are somewhat lacking?
@southcoastsealantsltd2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I cut the nozzle to suit the gap and hand carve my own sticks to suit the gap. My sticks have a tapered edge, smaller at the tip and large at the bottom which allows for variation in joint sizes

Great video. I slowed it down to see the make of sealant. Is it Otto seal s105? I've been using Dow 785+ to prevent mould growth. I'm just a DIY guy in my house. Would you recommend the Otto seal instead?
@southcoastsealantsltd2 жыл бұрын
Dow 785 is supposed to be the best! But I genuinely think it is just marketed very well. All silicone sealant designed for bathroom will have anti fungal/mould in them. Its more down to how often people clean there bathrooms and how good the ventilation is. Mould tends to grow in areas with less sir circulation (in the corners)

awesome job - do you cut the tip at 90 degree or 45 degrees?
@southcoastsealantsltd2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, i like to cut it not quite 90 but on a very slight angle
@southcoastsealantsltd2 жыл бұрын
Also I like to put a little link/bend in the nozzle, it allows for a bit of suspension and get you right into the corners 👌
@catchacoolbreeze2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the tip. I never thought I would like watching sealing so much. Need to make some of those sticks!

What’s the best thing to make the wooden tools from, strip wood?
@southcoastsealantsltd3 жыл бұрын
Yes it's pine strip wood you can but it in all sorts of sizes. Must be sharpened with a fresh stanley blade or you could try a high grit sand paper 👌

This is a high modulus silicone it's called Ottoseal S105 imported from Germany. Specifically designed with anti fungal properties, for internal use with areas of high humidity
