A lot of bands I like, you have to get "in the vibe" with them, but with Mastodon, there is no cost of admittance. You are just hit with really fucking cool music the entire time

I kinda disagree They’re a top 10 band for me, but the first time I heard Leviathan, it sounded like crap to me. It’s weird but they’ve grown on me so much
@thebronzepill78924 ай бұрын
Very much disagree. Crack the Skye was cool at first, but these days every song gives me shivers. Mastodon makes epic growers.
@ShockTheMonkey353 ай бұрын
@@raegandalbo9731 oh man, i thought Leviathan was one of the easier ones to enjoy, but i was an aspiring guitarist when it came out so i dug it all, but Megalodon was the best ever, and when I introduced Mastodon to other people, I would always start by showing them Megaladon, then the intro (like first min and a half) of Sleeping Giant, then Id play Tread Lightly (my 2nd fav song by Mastodon), then The Motherload, so the person i was introducing them to could get a taste of all the creativity and the groovier riffs and more clean vocals (if i was introducing a non-metal friend to them) but yeah i agree with you that their albums are certainly an acquired taste......As is all metal with bizarre scales and time sigs. 🤘☠️🤘
@raegandalbo97313 ай бұрын
@@ShockTheMonkey35 I’d just never really heard extreme music before. I kinda liked bands like Venom, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Iron Maiden but aside from Emperor, I couldn’t really get into extreme music. Then the main riff to Iron Tusk pounded my brain and I didn’t like it at first because of the screaming and the dissonance and whatnot, but I really loved it later down the road
